sorry about your SIL and glad to hear the girls had a nice vacation from their mom with Aunty Liz I try to tell my kids that noone is perfect and that I will love them forever no matter what....DS likes soda and I try to limit it..but not restrict it. I think keeping sweets completely away from a kid will make it more novel for them when your not around or they grow up

I woke the kids up early today, I know bad, bad mommy.

I am going to be waking them up earlier and earlier each day now b/c school starts in less than a week!

I'm also doing a staggered bedtime again, so they can get some sleep before I wake them up in the morning

T has to be at the bus stop at 7:20am!! At least the other three don't have to be at school till 9am.

School started this past Monday, but my kids are to little. DS can start pre-k next year. What time does school begin and end. For elem. it is 7:40am -2:15pm.

I feel like I've waited FOREVER I'm so scared and so excited all at the same time. It's been so long since I've been in school, I'm so nervous but I'm really hoping for the best

I'm taking 2 classes/6 hours
they put me on a kinda fin aid probation b/c I didn't finish my classes in 99. I told them that shouldn't matter b/c I wasn't on Fin Aid then but all they look at is I didn't finish. I was young and stupid then, I know better now! She starts school Monday too we'll both be going back together I'm kinda sad though, this is her last year of Elementary school and her last year at her school. She's loved it there and we've been lucky (well not in 1st grade )that she's had great teachers and have loved all but 1 of them

I wanted to do that with Andie this week, but she's in San Antonio visiting her dad for the last week of vacation. She's coming back tomorrow though

and then to top it all off... they're parents are VERY strict about what they allow the girls to eat...they say their fat

They are big girls... as in TALL!! They don't look fat at all. Their mom is at least 5'8 and dad is 6'1, but right before they came they took them school clothes shopping and they went up a size in clothes.

That flipped mom out, and told them they were not allowed to eat "junk" and they had to run everyday here.

Ok, we're not big runners, but our kids are active and they are NOWHERE near fat. We enjoy food, and our kids are allowed to have junk along with healthy foods. We just balance them out.

So... what do the girls do as soon as they're at the airport... buy junk food!! It is just so sad that they are having to worry about that kind of stuff at 13 & 11.

Well, they mom is SO not happy with us I'm sure... we didn't hold any food back from them, let them choose special stuff from the store, and they had Dairy Queen for the first time! We actually took them their twice since they asked us too.

Yesterday when they talked to their mom (for the FIRST time since they arrived 8 days ago ) she told them to get ready b/c they're going to be running 8 miles when they get home to make up for all the food they ate here

Another thing that was so sad, the 11yo kept commenting how "weird" it was that I would just walk up to my kiddos and give them a big hug, kiss them and tell them that I love them! I made sure that by the end of their trip I did ti to here too. That just makes me think that their parents don't do/say that to them. Man, I hug/kis my kids so may times during the day!!

Ok, ok, I guess I'll just stop now... I could go on and on.

its a shame that young girls have to worry about that stuff.... its no wonder that so many end up with eating phobias and disorders.
