I'm new to the "Community Boards". I have a simple question:

My mom doesn't want me to get married because she's afraid that i'll leave her. She doesn't want me to leave her because she will be all alone then. I know what your thinking... where will your dad be? Well he may be "gone" because of a brain tumor that will eventually kill him.

What do I do? I will never leave her ever but what if my dad beats the odds?

are you around 15 or so? If yes, I would say you have quite a few years to worry about marriage and a lot of things can change between now and then.... you sound like you have a lot going on...

That is exactly what I was thinking. Your only around 15 - why worry about marriage now. You have your WHOLE life ahead of you.

Well the thing is I don't want to leave her when my dad's gone which is a really scary thought but when it's brought up in your face everytime there's a convorsation going on. Yes, i'm 14 years old. But I want to take care of my mom and I also told her that I would never get a boyfriend or anything. She doesn't believe me.

I get sad on a daily basis thinking of the future because it sure is gonna not be fun when your worried about your dad dying. It also scares me everytime he falls asleep. the doctor said he'd die in his sleep.

But on a brighter side it doesn't help when I have a huge crush on a grade 12

Right now I am sure your Mom is thinking she doesn't want to lose her little girl also. But in time things will change. I lost my Father when I was in my 20's. My Mom had a heartattack and I almost lost her at the same time. You never know what tomorrow is going to bring so live for today.

You are worrying about things long before you need to. I see my Mom EVERYDAY and I continue to take care of her. When you get to be an adult you see things differently.
