I am going to be honest, you completely changed my idea of homeschooling. Around here, the people that homeschool seem to be more of the "natural" type and live in areas that don't have, what I would call, basic necessities/sanitary living conditions...and their kids seem to spend quite a bit of time on "life" field trips like going to the beach and grocery shopping

I may have been exposed to just a few bad apples...but that was what my opionion was, until I met you. And you do such a great job with your kids and they seem to learn so much more than what they would in a traditional setting...and you seem to really care, try and put a lot of effort into schooling them. I give you so much credit for being patient. DH has an education degree and when I tell him what you are doing...he said that is how it should be...he also said that the way people do it out here is
