We've been trying to decide all day whether to take our truck or van to PA tomorrow. I think we've finally decided on the van. It's so much more comfortable than the truck, but there are flurries in the forecast for Thursday night so we thought maybe we should take the truck since it's four-wheel drive.

I'm starting to realize that this trip will be one of those whirlwinds - leaving tomorrow around 2 p.m. and getting home early Friday morning sometime before noon. And it's a 7-8 hour drive one way.

I've fixed two pans of lasagna for all of us to have for dinner Thursday night and am going to fix some stuffed shells in the morning to take also. Might as well bring food!

I'm starting to realize that this trip will be one of those whirlwinds - leaving tomorrow around 2 p.m. and getting home early Friday morning sometime before noon. And it's a 7-8 hour drive one way.

At first I was thinking that for safety sake, you should take the truck....but 7-8 hours is a looooongggg time for a family of six to be together....the van is looking better It seems like every weekend someone is driving somewhere

We're taking a quick trip (a very quick trip) up to PA. The man that our kids have grown up calling Grandpa has been diagnosed with brain cancer. We want to get up there so the kids can see him. (and Dh and I want to see him, too.) DD is driving from college and will meet up with us about a third of the way there. Then I can help her out with some of the driving if she gets tired.

DH is on night shift and has to work until 7 a.m. So he'll come home, get a little sleep and then we'll leave. And he has to be back to work by 7 p.m. Friday so we need to be back early enough Friday for him to get some sleep before work Friday night. See why I say quick trip!

that does seem like a hard trip to make.....but it will be worth it. Last November we took the kids to visit my Grandmother. We went just for the weekend to another island, which wasn't easy, but it was so worth it to see her and have her see the kids. I will never forget how she cried when she saw us. She had a stroke fourteen years earlier and wasn't able to speak much. In a couple weeks it is her one year anniversary, I am so glad we went when we did.

I hate when I have e-mail problems! it drives me crazy when I know I sent an e-mail and it never gets there!!
