Sorry I keep deserting you-well I'll try again to fill you in-OK
Sorry in advance for the vent-
Well I get to work at 11pm and not aware that some idiot girl/RN has taken a pair of patients along with orientee of a new RN who will finish her orientation in a week-usually they take two patients tops and she feels like she's super nurse and can handle more-well surprise surprise when they can't-Hello these patients are in the ICU for a reason-they are a little sick-duh
so silly me didn't realize that she had a pair and an orientee and asked if this was true-all of a sudden I have two people yelling at me that we aren't helping and it has nothing to do with her having a pair of patients on top of an orientee who doesn't know how to handle all this-please give me a break-just calm down and breath
We have alot of nurses who have never worked on the floor(general medical area) and had to learn to prioritize their assignments and problems when it comes to taking care of more than 1 patient-so this happens occasionally where they freak out and become Miss Drama Queens-anyways I don't know if this makes sense to you or not-this is really a nursing issue that occurs more than it should due to lack of some nurses skills when it comes to handling more than one thing at a time-and you guessed it they're single and have no kids-multi-tasking is not their strong point!!
Sorry for the long vent-I feel better
