oooohh, that does sound yummy. I made a chili in my crockpot once...it was o.k....put if I can find more venison crockpot recipes that would be nice too...I usually put the slow cooker on early so whenever the guys are ready it eat it is cooked and hot.

DH does something really good. He takes stew meat size pieces and pounds them out and dips them in some flour and spices. Than frys them in a little bit of oil with onions. VERY GOOD stuff.

That is the same way he did the Elk this last time.

HE DIDN'T GO TODAY... BUT I WILL BE ADGUSTING IT AND SENDING IT IN WITH MY PAYMENT FOR AFTERCARE!!

When I called to withdraw him today they didn't ask any questions at all... it was odd!!

I did something like that with valley quails once..it was good, but a lot of work. Little birds don't have much meat on them ;). I told my DH that your DH was eating elk the other week...it started him on a whole (long) lecture about how healthy and wonderful elk is

I figured she could stop in N.C. and Kathy would help her get from there to here. :teeth:

Just got on here and tried reading back to catch up. Looks like I'm going to be the middle-man here. What is this, the Underground Runaway Moms Club!

Okay, in catching up I've decided to skip all the posts from you guys trying to cook deer. That's not for me. We feed them, we don't eat them! :rotfl: They're all over our property!

:rotfl2: It is fun to joke, but I better not read about anyone from here in the news ;)

Don't worry, they use real names in the news. We know most everybody from their Dis names and first names. So it would take us a while to realize that the news is really talking about our friends! :rotfl:

of course, I would have to actually get off the DIS and go to a news site....so unless someone lets me know here, I probable won't find out :teeth:

no thanks! I just like feeding them. Never acquired the taste for deer meat.
I had a pet deer for a little while, we nursed him back to health after he was in a car accident. I have a pet goat....so I won't eat or cook goat :crazy2: But I am o.k. with deer :confused3

Lots of people around here hunt but it's just not us, especially since we don't like the meat. I can see hunting if you want the meat but I can't see it just for the "sport" of it.
