I love most animals....and we just got a little piggie a few months ago...well, the guinea pig grew quite a bit since we got him...DS loves him :lovestruc and he was sitting next to me so we were looking at picture together. DS has since left me to get his real piggie :teeth:

Do you have any of these critters?????
We have had sooo many critters...I think the unofficial word was our home is a refuge....A few years ago when DD was born I had to draw the line, a really nice horse that had been wonderful for years was getting older and needed a nice retirement home which was to be our place....as bad as I felt to say "no" I had to with two little ones and horses are so expensive...plus, I don't ride.

We have dwarf hamsters-pathetic little ones-one has lost both eyes(one at a time mind you-yuck) and the other has diabetes and should die any time now-DD previous hamster had the same thing lasted about 8 months then slipped into a coma-but they are so cute-

I don't think I could handle cleaning a cage of a big piggie-do you keep yours in the house

My co-worker had a really sick rabbit and her daughter (twenty-something with many issues) wasn't taking proper care of it. I have allergies to some rabbits...but I offered to take it in...poor thing. She asked in the morning and so on my lunch I bought a new cage, rabbit food, shampoo, etc. and a cage, I didn't want anything but the rabbit in case their was a germ in the cage...it died by the time I got back to work from lunch:(
Currently, we have three dogs outside in a large pen (we used to have more when we had puppies)...I had daddy dog for over 7 years. My goat that I had for over 6 years is in the pen too...she was a week old when we got her and so she has always lived with our olderest dog. Then we have a cockateil (sp?) DS got two years ago as a birthday gift (wasn't my idea) in a cage and the guinea pig in separate cage in our laundary room and we have fish in tank. This is "downsized" for us :rotfl:

I usually get stuck cleaning all the animals so we only have the dwarf hamsters now-but once we move we plan on getting a puppy :flower:

WOW!!!! do you have a lot of land for a Goat!!! Must be nice to have such nice weather year round so your animals can be outside-I'm afraid of what my kids will want once we move

I love to see horses, but they make me nervous. People make me more nervous, they don't respect horses like they should. I can't handle when my sister thinks it is o.k. to let her girls feed someone else's horse...it is not safe to feed a horse for the horse (if it is not supposed to eat the item) and is definetly not safe for the kids...that's how kids lose fingers and get hit. DH and I don't let our kids do those types of things unless the owner is there with us and give us the food and it is under close supervision. If the horse looks aggitated, I am out of there with my kids in tow. I was secretely a little happy (but sad at the same time) when my in-laws sold their horses.

DH has always wanted us to get a pot-bellie pig....I had a no to that one too.

does your parrot bit-or is it a nice birdie, seems like most parrots chose one person it likes and the rest can bug off

I clean/feed the inside animals (which includes DH, DD and DS) and DH takes care of the dogs, goat and pen. Goats can be great pets and don't take much work...if they have a large area and small numbers. If we had a lot of goats the would damage/erode our pen...but just one is fine.
