Last Night I saw the best concert EVER! What is yours?

The Who (or Pete and Roger) at Great Woods (the Tweeter Center) Two years ago I think. The day they found out that John Entwistle hadnt' just died of natural causes. Pete and Roger gave an amazing show. Also I just saw Bobby Vinton with my mom, he's her favorite and he put on a pretty fabulous show. He's pretty spry.

I always said, since about 5 years ago, my ultimate concert would be Martina Mc Bride and Alan Jackson. I just love those two! I never in a zillion years would have EVER thougt they'd wind up on tour together.

Well, I just got my tickets yesterday!!!!!!!!! Whooo hoooo! They will be here 10/2 and I can NOT wait!!!!!

Im with sk8belle...it would have to be Billy Joel & Elton John together. They are 2 of my 3 favorite acts and seeing them together was awesome. Plus this was a birthday gift for DH, the first birthday we were together for. The only bummer was I was miserably sick, but I still managed to go and enjoy it.

My favorite was also my first - Led Zeppelin at their second Knebworth concert in 1979.

Rush in 1981
The Kinks in 1981

Siouxsie and the Banshees, I'm not sure what year that was. It was definately pre Peek-A-Boo era.

Slayer in 1990

Marillion in 1984

Scorpions in 1984. That leads to my worst ever concert. Opening for Scorpions was Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. Absolutely the worst. concert. ever. She had no stage presence and her music was muddy sounding. Of course, that was probably because the mix wasn't quite right. Still, not a good show.

I just realized that I'm really old. I haven't been to a concert in 14 years.

The opening chords of "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" from the first Pink Floyd show I saw (during their "A Momentary Lapse of Reason" tour) was nearly a religious experience. They don't disappoint.

Any Springsteen concert!:teeth: 24 times and counting..........but the best was when we were upgraded from the boondocks to the 2nd row!!!!!

Hmm.. tough call.

I really loved the Sinead O Connor Lion and the Cobra Tour.. it was an amazing show with fantastic energy.

U2 Joshua Tree, great concert, first "real" one

B-52's last year, loved them for years! Sang along like nobody's business (and my DH took almost 400 pics !)

It's a tie between two ---

Aerosmith & Joan Jett, 1990. The Pump tour, I think it was.
and
Def Leppard & Queensryche, around 1988/1989

Both awesome shows.

Favorite was Paul McCartney Oklahoma City in Fall 2002. The first time I saw Rush I wasn't even a fan. The concert (around 1986) was awesome. I have only seen them one more time since then, but I would jump at the chance. The live DVD that came out a while back is pretty good too.:D

Last year DH and I went to see Robbie Williams (a huge English pop star). He was amazing and we were at the front of the crowd with 125,000 people behind us!!

keirgrey - I like Marillon too - Fish lives in the same village as my inlaws, he is a really nice guy.

7/23/04 ROD STEWART JONES BEACH

Unbelievable performance, No one before him. He performed for 2 and a half hours with a 15 minute break, INCREDIBLE

Live Aid, Philadelphia 1985!

One of my favorite moments; when Duran Duran did "Save A Prayer." The sun was beginning to set, there was a slight breeze in the air, everyone was sunburned (and burned out!) and it seemed as if that particular song had a magical hold on the entire crowd. I'll never forget it!

Springsteen - The Horizon in Rosemont, Il - 1980 (front row;) )
Springsteen - The Meadowlands - 1984 (nothing like The Boss at home)
Clapton / Santana - The Stadium, Chicago - 1978 (they both came out for the encore)
Chicago - Arie Crown Theatre, Chicago 1971??? (great acoustics and Robert Lamm playing the strings inside the piano!!!)

Take your pick! :teeth:

Awww, I should've gone to the Rush concert. I was a HUGE fan of theirs when I was in high school and went to two of their concerts. Even lost a little hearing in my right ear from their show. They are extremely good at live performance and I still love their songs. I was kind of shocked to read your thread because EVERY person I associate with now (we are in are late 30s to 40) either hasn't heard of them or can't stand them. I kept thinking "is it me??? ". I should have really gone but the last time I went to the Nissan Pavillion--yikes--it took me almost an hour and a half to get out of the parking lot.

I have five all time favorites. In no particular order...

Aerosmith at Nassau Colesium, early Janury 1990. I've seen Aerosmith over fifty times, but something about that show was just magical.

Nickelback at the World in NYC, January, 2003. Simply amazing. No pyro, only 600 or so people, a very intimate show.

Extreme, Orpheum Theater, Boston, October, 1990. A homecoming show, they were just so right on that night. I've seen these guys over 100 times, and that night was just "on" like no other.

Atlantic Records 40th Anniversary show, MSG, 1989 (or was it 1988?) The lineup of a lifetime.

Def Leppard, Glens Falls Civic Center, 1988, one of the first shows they did after Rick Allen's accident.

Either the Sugar Ray concert where I got to br right against the stage and touch some of the band members OR the Sugar Ray concert where I passed out in the front row then got to sit backstage in the wings with Mark McGrath's sister .

i have been to 7 bruce springsteen concerts: 5 during the 1999-2000 tour and 2 during the Rising tour. i saw 4 of them when he was in jersey, and they were awesome, but he's very different when he's away from home. i love every one of his concerts though. we've never been very close to the satge, except for when we were in boston and sat behind the stage. we were probably somewhere between 20 and 25 rows up and when he came to the back of the stage i was sitting on my dad's shoulders and waved and he actually waved back!! it was one of the coolest things ever!! but, definitely, the Boss's shows are the best!!!

:D

Almost any Dave Matthews concert I've been to is at the top of my list, but June 11, 2001 at Giants Stadium is # 1. There was a severe thunderstorm toward the end of the show and it almost seemed as if it were part of the show, as if it were planned. Anyone who was there can easily back me up on this. Just a great concert beginning to end.

Two Springsteen concerts in 85 were good, one in the back of the back of the second tier, one in row 45 on the floor of the silverdome.
I've seen 7 monkees concerts (flame away) but the one in 1989 in the front row was the best; they did an awesome acoustic set. The Cleveland show on my BDay in 96 was good too in spite of the thunderstorm.
Don Henley solo was very good.
Styx at Pine Knob in 96--Ted Nugent joined them for the encore. I've always wanted to see Nugent but he always appears locally at a venue I won't go to, so I was thrilled to see him
