Last Night I saw the best concert EVER! What is yours?

Awww, I should've gone to the Rush concert. I was a HUGE fan of theirs when I was in high school and went to two of their concerts. Even lost a little hearing in my right ear from their show. They are extremely good at live performance and I still love their songs. I was kind of shocked to read your thread because EVERY person I associate with now (we are in are late 30s to 40) either hasn't heard of them or can't stand them. I kept thinking "is it me??? ". I should have really gone but the last time I went to the Nissan Pavillion--yikes--it took me almost an hour and a half to get out of the parking lot.

Hehehe! Well, I am 32, so I am at least in my 30's! I've been a HUGE Rush fan since I was little. My Brother, who is older than me, bought me a tape of 2112 for my Birthday when I was very young, and it was my first album ever. I loved it and listened to it all the time. Thus a Rush fan was born.

The Rush Concert is always a funny concert. My best friend (who I also turned into an obsessive Rush fan) and I like to say that they are "Nerd Rock." A lot of computer geeks (no offense to those who take such a title as an insult. I married a computer geek!) and people like that. Mostly Men too, it seems. There aren't a lot of the obnoxious people that you run into at other concerts. My Best friend and I are probably odd as we dragged our husbands to the concert, and not the othe way around. :)

DS11 and I were there! It was amazing. It was the best Rush show I have seen. Red Barchetta was amazing, I love that song. One Little Victory, Spirit of The Radio, Earthshine, just everything was great. They looked like they were having sooo much fun. I loved seeing Neil smile when Alex was doing his rant during La Villa. Jerry Stiller was funny, especially him head banging. And the video during By-Tor was great, especially with Neil raising his eyebrow when Alex and Geddy fighting. I would love to go see them again this tour, but won't be able too. :( Ds and I went to the VT tour and this show was way better. Where did you guys sit?

You know what cracked me up about that concert was that they men totally outnumbered the women. I ran to the bathroom during Neil's drum solo (I know, blasphamy, but I had to go!) and there was a line for the men's room and I was able to walk right in to the ladies room. How odd is that? Normally it is the other way around. :)

We were sitting in the seats, on the left side, probably about midway back! They were pretty good seats but not as good as when I saw them last time! Four rows back from the stage, dead center. It was heaven! We camped out for tickets and they had a lottery for spots in line, and I pulled #2. Woo Hoo! :) This time we are older and have kiddies, so no camping out for us. We got'em on-line. :)

Where were you all sitting? I saw a lot of kids and was actually surprised! Some looked kind of bored but a lot of them really looked like they were getting into it! I didn't take Katie, obviously, since she is only two but hopefully they will stay together and keep touring long enough so that I can take her! I did get her a concert shirt though! :)

Rolling Stones, '64 and '65. Aire Crown Theater, before the fire, small venue.

Ooh, I have a couple.
Prince! This is possibly because I listened to Prince on the way to work this morning ;)

Jimmy Buffett- you gotta love the pre-concert tailgates! :)

And Barenaked Ladies. They're just fun.

Hands down, The Dave Matthews Band. I've seen them 6 times and it just gets better and better. Just saw him in July at the Tweeter Center. Absolutley Amazing!

We had Orch. 2 seats, last row, on Alex's side. It was hard to see anything, plus a very large man had the seat next to me. He took up his space and mine  DS wasn't feeling well, he had a headache, so he sat most of the show. :( He said he was glad he went though and that we didn't leave early. A lot of people told him how lucky he was to be so young and to be able to see Rush in concert. There were a lot of people around us who brought there wife or girlfriend, and the wife or girlfriend didn't enjoy the show, most didn't even know any songs. Why waste the money. I left DH at home, he doesn't like Rush and I would not want him to bring down my fun.

They are just such incredible musicians. I have had a crush on Alex since I was a teenager. I would like to wrap him up in a box and bring him home.

My sis and I were in the 4th row for the Josh Groban concert at the Tweeter Center last week. We love Josh soooooo much, and this is the closest we've ever sat at one of his concerts. It was just awesome!! He is so fantastic in concert. He looked hot too, LOL!

Phil Collins at the Fleet Center. He did a drum solo that left the entire audience in awe of his talent. He puts on a great show. Will see him again in September. Yay!!

Paul McCartney last year at the Fleet. It was really kinda cool seeing him but I have to say, his "opening act" was really weird. I guess I just did not get it.

Rod Stewart was pretty good too. He played forever and only took a 15 min break and he was sick that night.

The Eagles last fall. They are great but I will tell you that Joe Walsh sounded absolutely fantastic. He was a little painful to watch but really made the show.

Shmoogrrl, My husband went to that Rush concert with his best friend. They said it was the best EVER!! He couldn't believe that they played that long with no opening band and such a short break. He said it was "so worth it".

This made me laugh as my husband is an Electrical Engineer (Computer Geek - but I love him!)

Elton John/Billy Joel - Face to Face was amazing. Saw U2 in 2000, and that was awesome too.

But my favorite concert ever was Dave Matthews Band - August 15, 1995 - Red Rocks, Colorado. That was my first Dave concert, and even though I have seen him 5 times since then, it's still my favorite! :teeth:

No question..

Jimmy Buffett!!! Have seen him 4 times. Can't wait to see him again. The show is great and the pre-show in the parking lot is amazing.

I haven't been to that many but the best one in my book would be Tori Amos...that girl can sign and play the piano!!! My husband may agree or pick Garth Brooks.

Elton John played at Rich Stadium in Buffalo, 1976, for 3 1/2 hours in the pouring rain.....KiKi Dee came out & sang "Don't Go Breaking My Heart" surprising the audience.....awesome.....funny, some of the worst concerts were by acts we expected to be great.....Bee Gees, late 70's....boring.....Linda Ronstadt in her prime....I think they told her to stand on an X & don't get off it!....I saw Neil Diamond 3 times.....he just mesmorizes an audience....Barry Manilow.....wow, what a performer! I like showmanship better than a great voice....thanks for this thread.....brings back great memories.....

Saw Billy Joel/Elton John when the Face to Face tour came to the Carrier Dome during my freshman year. Expensive concert, but well worth the money.

I've seen the Capitol Steps many times, an enjoyable show every time.

Saw the "Family of Harry Chapin sing Harry's songs" once ... it was fun, although there were a lot of songs that I didn't really recognize
