Last night at dinner, my 21/2 year old, "out of the blue" said, "I wanna go Disney World" At first we could not understand him, but he said it again. We asked him what he wanted to do at WDW, and he said play with Mickey. He was 16 months when he went last and he loved it. People told us it was a waste to take a baby and that he could not remember. I guess he remembers and he wants to go back. We had plans to go in Nov. of '07 or '08, but it looks like we will be going alot sooner.

I think he wants to check out the new POC ride to see what has changed.

That is so cute- you must be rasing him right!

Does he ask you to read the Birnbaum's WDW Guide as a bedtime story? :rotfl:

DD was 22 mos. and 26 mos. when we took her last...we're sliding in one more trip before she turns three. Free buffets and free tickets are just so appealing to DH (plus we're shooting for baby no.2 next spring).

I say take him!! LOL!!

Hi!
I'm taking my DGD (3 1/2) and my DD in August. People ask me why would I take a 3 1/2 year old since she won't remember it. I hate that. I live outside of Philly and go to the Jersey shore for vacation and take my DGD. She probably won't remember that either, but people take their kids all the time to the same shore every year. Maybe they should not even go to nursery school or kindergarten because they won't remember it. I think if you can go and can afford it, you should do it. Four years ago, my sister and I got to go together on a long awaited trip and I'm really glad that we did. Now she has MS and can barely walk and somedays she can hardly move at all. We are in our 50's and you never know what your health will be in a few years if I wait to take my DGD. So We're going !!! Thanks. Just had to vent!!!

Awww... So cute!

My DS will randomly tell us things about Disney World. Little things we know we have not mentioned since the last trip.

He was 21 months old on his last trip & next week, when we are there, he will be 31 months old.

The people who say "wait till they remember", have NO idea what they are missing.

Who cares if they dont remember in 10 or 20 years? YOU get to enjoy the moments with them NOW!

I dont remember my 8th birthday party, but I know my parents threw me one...There is photographic proof. So it just shows, we dont "remember" everything after a certian age. But AT the moment, it sure is fun & wonderful! pixiedust:

I hate when people ask me that question! My son was 2 1/2 the first time we took him and he remembers things I've forgotten about that trip. Every time we come back he asks when we are going back. Besides, they might forget thinds, but I'm willing to bet we will never forgot the joy in their faces. To me, that alone is worth it.

When we last went to WDW the morning we were checking out my DD who was only 3 1/2 was crying " I want to come back to Disney World". She had tears in her eyes.

That 'Oh they won't remember it' comment bugs me too. I don't care if she doesn't remember it, I will. Some of the most magical moments are the younger ones. I loved it when she could barely walk but would manage to walk up to the characters with outstreched arms. Or giving them those cute open mouth baby kisses, you know the ones I mean.

Our Baby Girl went 4 times before she turned 5. We didn't go last year because we bought a house. We are hoping to go this year. She talks about DW and loves to look at the pictures and hear the stories. Just yesterday we were talking about when she was 3 and was wearing Tinkerbell shoes when she met Mr. Smee and Captain Hook. :rotfl2:

I agree! :thumbsup2

My sons were 1 and 3 on our first trip. We went back when they were 3 and 5 and they both remembered quite a bit from the first trip!! Watching them experience the true magic of WDW at such a young innocent age was worth so much to me!! pixiedust: :cheer2:

I actually feel sorry for the families that wait and go on the once in a lifetime trip with their teenagers and come back saying that WDW is just another amusement park. :(

I remember going to DisneyWorld when I was a little 4 year old :goodvibes Okay 4 is older than 2 or 3 but I was still pretty young. I remember going on Space Mountain and it scared me to death I also remember getting lost in DisneyWorld. My parents said I was lost for like around 5 min. It seemed like I was lost way longer but I do believe that it might have only been like 5 min. > It might have seemed longer since it was intense for me. Just like Space Mountain seemed longer as it was intense for me.

But those where the only 2 things that I did not enjoy lol > I did enjoy many other things. I don't remember much but I do remember going on It's a small World. My parents said I went on that ride right after Space Mountain. The funny thing is that now Space Mountain and It's a small World are like my 2 favorite rides in DisneyWorld :goodvibes

My parents purchased a DisneyLand record in Disney Village ( that was the name of that shopping area back then that is now called Downtown Disney ) I know they purchased it when I was 4 years old but I am not sure if they purchased it during the same trip that I went on when I rode Space Mountain and got scared to death or if it was another DisneyWorld trip.

The record had theme music from the attractions from DisneyLand but at the time I thought it was music from the attractions from DisneyWorld :goodvibes Like one of the theme's was it's a Small World and I just assumed it was from the Small World ride form DisneyWorld :goodvibes Also I remember laying down on the floor while I listen to the Record and we got back form DisneyWorld that night. Also I remember falling fast asleep and waking up when it was daylight. It most likely was like 3 a.m. when we got home or something like that so I think that I was only asleep on the floor for like a couple of hours and not all night lol

O yes and I also remember being so happy when I was on the Dumbo ride :goodvibes I know I went on it was I was 4 years old but the ? again was it the same day that I went on it's a small world and was it the same day that my parents purchased the DisneyLand Record ? I have not been back on the Dumbo ride since. I almost went back on it that last time I was in DisneyWorld which was Feb 17th of 2006 :goodvibes Maybe since I have not been on the Dumbo ride since I was 4 years old and the chances of me going to DisneyLand in June are looking good ( I have never been to DisneyLand ) maybe I will hold off on Dumbo ride until I go to DisneyLand. That sounds kinda like a cool way to bring back a memory :goodvibes The first time I go on Dumbo ride is when I am 4 years old at DisneyWorld and the second time I go on Dumbo ride is when I am 29 years old at DisneyLand :goodvibes Okay that just sounds so awesome so I will just not go on the Dumbo ride in DisneyWorld until after I go on the Dumbo ride in DisneyLand :goodvibes

Anyways I am not sure which memory I like better from when I was 4 years old ? It is the small world ride or the dumbo ride or me laying on the floor at home when I listen to the DisneyLand record and fall fast asleep :goodvibes Right now I think the DisneyLand record is the memory that I like the best :goodvibes But in a couple of months or week or even days the dumbo ride and/or small world ride might become my favorite memory for a while he he :goodvibes

That is adorable, we took my neice (2 at the time) for her first trip to the world in April of last year and she does that too....at random times she'll just say "I want to go to Mickey's House" lol and anytime we pass a building painted the same yellow color as the Country Western building @ ASMu she says "look! Mickeys House!!"
