Any tips on what to tour, places to see and where to eat would be greatly appreciated.

If you're into Yankee Candles, there's a huge new store!

Are you planning on going to Busch Gardens?

I just got back
We did Historic Williamsburg -one day (could have spent two -but we are history nuts)
Jamestown 1/2 day.
Also walked around William and Mary with friends and ate at the Cheese Shop(sandwich place)
We stayed at the Great Wolf Lodge and spent much of our free time in the water park.
I would have liked to have done Yorktown and Bush Gardens but there wasn't time.

I forgot to mention we did the Govenors Palace at Williamsburg and it is an extra ticket.
If you have ever been to Mount Vernon or Monticello the govenors palace has a similar feel.

Busch Gardens is my second favorite park (next to WDW, of course). It's beautiful and very well run. Love to eat at Das Festhaus.

Next time we go, I'm going to book a hotel in the Kingsmill section. This is nearer to BG than the hotels in the colonial area, but it's still plenty convenient.

The thing is, when we went in 1991, there was nothing in the Kingsmill area except for one resort. We went back in 2001 and saw that a bunch of hotels (I'd say most of the major chains are represented) and shopping had been built there. So all of those hotels are relatively new.

There's a great seafood buffet restaurant which I believe is called "King George's" or something like that. Went there in 1991 and 2001 and loved it both times.

Aside from BG and the Colonial area, there's a gigantic place to shop called the Williamsburg Pottery Factory (or something like that--I hope someone who is less senile than I am posts the right names of these places). Kay, you will LOVE this place! It's awesome! They sell all kinds of things for your home.

Have a wonderful time. :)
