If you book a last minute trip, can you still use magical express? What happens if your luggage tags don't arrive before you leave? :confused3 In this case, last minute is approximately 2 weeks out from arrival.

Thanks for your help!

I think that you can handle your luggage yourself. You would have to get it at the airport, then go to ME, They would place it under the bus, At the Villa you would have to get your luggage from the bus, then use bell service. Same going home, You would take your luggage with you on ME.

Enjoy!

When we use ME, we pick up our luggage and take it to the buses. I've had too many issues with our bags, plus I've seen bags with the Disney tags go around and around and around the baggage carousel. Therefore, it is easier for us to get our bags, walk over to ME, get on the bus, check in, take our bags up to our room.

I had the same situation before. When you check into ME, tell them that you have your luggage and you did not get the tags in time.

It might be better than using ME during peak times. We went this past June and ME had a 2-3 hour time frame to deliver our luggage. It arrived 5 hours later.

We booked a last-minute trip (8 days out) last year in January (right at the beginning of the Marathon weekend)...ME said they'd overnight the tags/documents to us as soon as they were processed, but told us they couldn't guarantee the paperwork & tags would arrive before we left home...they told us that if the paperwork didn't show up before we left home, we'd be in the system (they gave us a number to use to check in, but also told us they'd find it listed under our phone number) so we could still take ME to the resort, but would have to retrieve and bring our own bags...

Our documents did arrive (I believe two days later) and it all worked out "perfectly"...

Give the ME people your luggage claim slips. They can grab them that way, but it's much much easier, obviously, if you have the DME tags.

We did a last minute trip for spring break and did not receive our luggage tags before we left. ME will pick your bags up with your claim slips, and we decided to let them since we were going to go to the parks after we checked in and didn't really need anything out our luggage right away. Big mistake! Our flight got in at 1:30 in the afternoon, and our bags didn't get to our room until midnight, almost 2 hours after we got back from Fantasmic and were ready to get some sleep.

I'd recommend picking up your bags.

My biggest grip with ME picking up your luggage is that it has always arrived 4+ hours after arriving at the resort and there is absolutely no way to know if they actually have your bags. There is no phone number on any of the literature and I've had a number of rude responses from bell services regarding the whereabouts of my bags. What if your bags never made it to MCO? It would take forever to figure this out and there is no way to track it through Disney.

Sorry, little off topic. Just responding to the previous posts about the time it takes to get your bags.

We made a last minute trip last month (three days before arrival). We gave ME our luggage slips.

Got on the bus, registered at the villa, went to dinner and when we returned our luggage was in our room.:cool1:
