Last minute reserving?

We are going to Disney in about two weeks and most places are already booked (even odd times)

I've tried the Crystal palace, The Royal Table, The Norway princesses thing, Boma, Le Cellier.

I was only able to get the Tusker house at a non character time

We are planning to go to Epcot, Magic Kingdom, and the animal kingdom. Any places you recommend I check for eating at? Our last trip we ate alot of places where you don't have to call ahead and the food was pretty bad/boring.

That is so exciting that your trip is so close I am sure you will be able to get last minute reservations somewhere. But the places you have listed are very popular and most are booked right at the 180 day mark. There are some people who change reservations so you can keep trying but you might want to make reservations for now at the places that are available....Good luck!!!

I would suggest for the day you are at MK to try Kona Cafe at the poly. It is very quick & easy to ride the monorail over to the poly to eat, and back to MK after. It is one of our favorite restaurants and never miss it!

We made our reservations a little late, weren't able to get into all of the restaurants we wanted, but were able to get into Kona!

Using the online reservation system, enter the park you want to eat at and the time of day. Let the system tell you which restaurants have availability. If you don't like any of the restaurants then try resorts in the area. On your MK day you can try all the monorail resorts and if nothing's available there (at a minimum the Wave should be available) then try WL. On your Epcot day you can try a Crescent Lake restaurant. When you book 2 weeks out, you can't expect to get into the most sought after restaurants.

FYI: Tusker House is a great restaurant even at non-character times. We enjoy the food there because it's different than all the other buffets and it meaks a great place to rest for lunch in the middle of the day. If you go for lunch between 1:00 and I think it's 3:30 then you get the Nemo package which means you get priority seating for the Finding Nemo show.

Do you have a dining plan? If you don't then why not try Rainforest Cafe on your AK day. If it doesn't show up online then call them directly since they're known to keep reservations back from Disney's system. Also, if you don't have a dining plan then you can get in at a Swan/Dolphin restaurant fairly last minute. I think Garden Grove is a character meal. Of course there's usually SOMETHING available in the WS but only you can decide if you'll like what's available. Bistro de Paris isn't on the dining plan so maybe there'll be availability there.

Yeah... I figured we can just try and walk up. I just called again and was able to get something at the German buffet (Is that any good?? LOL)

Hello aleighjc! Hope all goes well with the on-line ADR system - it's a wonderful planning resource! If not, you can always double-check with guest services for availability when you arrive. We've had to change plans on rainy days, and guest services has always been helpful. Here are some additional suggestions for last-minute dining plans:

In EPCOT, we've had good luck getting late ADRs at Tokyo Dining. And just last week, my parents walked up to Restaurant Marrakesh in Morocco without an ADR during Food & Wine. Another good option is Sunshine Seasons in Future World - it's counter service, but has a great selection of very fresh foods. We also have friends (with children) who like to "snack around World Showcase" for one of their meals. They stop by a number of World Showcase counter service locations and order different items from each. If that fits with your touring style, it could be a fun option!

In Animal Kingdom, we really enjoy Flame Tree BBQ. It's counter service, so they don't take ADRs, but the seating area is very relaxing and secluded. We like to find a table near the lake with a view of Expedition Everest. If you decide to go, I'd suggest an early lunch or dinner. We usually arrive at Flame Tree by 11:15am for lunch to avoid the crowds and pick a great table!

In Magic Kingdom, I'll second angiwright's recommendation to take the monorail over to Kona Cafe. It may be easier to get an ADR there than at Ohana, but you'll find some of the best Ohana items on the Kona menu!

Once you arrive, call WDW-DINE and follow the prompt that leads you to the path of trying to make a reservation once you are already in the area. These operators have been pretty good at matching last minute guests with cancellations.
