Our dream cruise is only 3 days away. This is our first cruise and
we have a couple of questions. I have a 5 year old daughter and have read that the children have to register for the activities. When and where do we do this. She loves the princesses. I saw on the video that there is dress up time. Can you please tell me when and where that would be? Also, is there anything else you have to register for (I read about the spas and Palos)? One last question. We won't be doing the Disney excursions. To save money, we will be going to Megans Bay at St. Thomas, and probably Dawn Beach at St. Maarten. Are the taxis all about the same rates, or does anyone have any suggestions on the best way to get there. Thank you all for your help.

You can register your DD for the kids stuff once you board. Just go to the Oceaneer lab on deck 4. For that age, you will need to check her in and out, but they also have pagers available so that they can page you if she needs you or wants to leave, or whatever.

I have a GREAT suggestion for St. Thomas. When we were there in October, we rented a car for the day ourdselves from Avis. It's RIGHT in the Havensight Dock mall, across the street. Then you can drive yourself to where ever youwant to go, and it won't cost you too much. You can checks rates online and even hold a car without a credit card. BUT use a discount code. I used the Costco discount code, and saved ALOT. You don't even have to be a Costco member to get the rate. The discount code is AWD# A108300.... We did this and paid like $50.oo for a FULL sized car and even took a car ferry to St. John...They have small cars for much less, too. Do yourself a favor and skip the taxi. Rent a car, and you won't regret it. The island is small and is NOT hard to get around. We just used the map Avis gave us and it worked out GREAT.

Just be sure to leave yourself sufficient time to navigate the traffic when coming back to the ship. A couple of CM's told us some stories about almost missing the ship because the traffic was so congested just prior to sailing - and the ship doesn't wait for anyone.

Well, speaking from experience, we had NO trouble with traffic AT ALL... It was great, and the next time we do a Disney Cruise, I will DEFINATELY rent another car and do my own excursion. You save MAJOR money that way with just a little research... We also rented a car when our trip went to San Juan instead of St. Maarten. We went to the rainforest, which was interesting. If we would have went with the Disney excursion, we'd have paid like $50 PER person for doing the SAME thing we did on our own. We paid like $60 for a car for the day, and there were 6 of us. It could have costed $300, but we spent $60... And we weren't packed into buses and long lines like everyone else.. It was great, and I recommend it to everyone. Just RESEARCH your trip before you go, and PLAN where you want to go, and you'll do FINE... :)

Just a heads up....the cars in St Thomas are just like here in the states (driver on the left) BUT they drive on the wrong side....could get confusing. Taxi's to Magens Bay are $7/pp each way..do the math and take the driving conditions into consideration.
