Hi

Heading down next week...

1st night 1 bedroom Kidani Savanna:

1) What location should I request?
2) Do I have to wait till check in to ask for a location?

Next 2 nights 2 bedroom at BVC

3) Should I just have bells service send my bags over or take them myself?
4) What location should I request for the room?

5)Lastly going to MNSSHP can I drive over to Grand Floridan for a bite and leave my car there to take monorail over to MK?

Thanks in advance!!!!

We're heading to Kidani in about 4 weeks - 1 BR savanna, too - but it's our first time there ...

What I've been reading is to request a lower floor, Sunset Savanna room (that's where the giraffe's are ...)

However, one poster said they liked the upper floors because it gives you a more expansive view of the savanna ...

And you should e-mail/call with your request about 1 week before check-in ... So, like yesterday ... :)

You will need to move your car to the TTC before going to MNSSHP. You will be able to park at GF for up to 3 hours only for dinner.

disney might tow you and most people would be pleased if they did. can't describe it more succintly than that on a family board.

Besides you will most likely walk further parking at the GF than if you parked at the TTC. But I also disagree with it on principle, not just practicality.

Maybe we were just lucky? We went to the Polynesian for breakfast, then took a monorail tour and had a mimosa or cocktail at every hotel. By the end it would not have been safe/wise to drive the car. We left the car at the Poly and picked it up that evening around 8:00pm. I never really thought that it could have been towed. I doubt they have the sophistication to track your restaurant reservation times and coordinate those with parking passes. Besides, what if you were at a reservation under someone else's name? Then nothing would match but you would be legitimately there. Or what if you had breakfast, hung out by the beach, and then had lunch. There are a million reasons why you could be at a hotel for more than 3 hours, I doubt Disney would ever tow your car.

I would say if it makes your life easier just do it. (This will probably be a very unpopular opinion).

unfortunately, they rarely tow. more often it's the hotel guests who come back to find that there are no parking places available. tough luck for them, huh?

That would be tough luck. Does this happen often?

I think you have to use your own discretion, and whenever possible try to keep other guests in mind.

Yes, you can park at at GF then go to MK. If parking availability becomes an issue, security will impose a parking ban similar to what they do at the boardwalk during food and wine

In this case, though, what makes life easier for you makes life harder for the people who are paying hundreds of dollars a night to stay at that resort.

The resort lots are just not designed to be overflow lots for the theme parks. They've got enough space for the registered guests, plus some extras for short term visitors using the restaurants, etc.

When you realize that there are 900 rooms at GF, and tens of thousands of people at MK, you can see that the situation can get out of hand quickly. And it does, at the resorts that are near theme parks. Read enough parking threads on these boards and you'll see many, many reports of guests circling their resort lot over and over again, late at night with a car full of cranky, exhausted kids. And sometimes, paying for valet parking because they just want to get inside and get to bed, rather than wait for someone to get back from MK and get their car out of a lot they weren't supposed to be in in the first place.

Should Disney police the resort lots better? Absolutely. You bet. But it would help a lot if people would abide by the signs at the parking lot entrances and not use resort lots for theme park parking.
