Went into the National website to cancel the two ressies I had made as I watch the price go down for 9/18-9/25. Anyway, thought I'd try one last time, and the price dropped another $20!!
Total cost for Inter. car $109 for a week.

If you're travelling soon, check it out!

I used Priceless code and Ent. coupon.

I was just coming here to post the same info! I saw someone else post that National's rates had dropped for Oct/Nov., so wanted to check my ressie for Sept 23rd. Sure enough, it dropped another $11!! That's the second drop since I originally booked in August. We're renting for 4 days, Thursday night through Monday afternoon for $73 all fees/taxes. Used Priceless code and free weekend day coupon. $11 doesn't seem like much, but it could be a few Mickey bars!!

I just love this site! I saved another $5 off our reservation which starts on September 26. Our 5 day intermediate rental is now down to $106.

Thanks!

Hi-

I saw that some of you are traveling next week. We leave Sunday-Thursday. I can't believe I'm asking this, but how much of a worry is there with Jeanne? It seem to be heading right over Florida. It's our first trip to WDW and my dh is beginning to seriously stress about going! What do you all think?

and my rental for 11 days went from 204 down to 189, this is an EA/intermediate reservation.

Say no to Jeanne

My rate has stayed the same, $124.82 for an intermediate for 5 days in Oct, pick up on Wed, return on Sunday. It has not changed since I originally made it. I am using the AM-ex code and $20 off weekly rate.

I have tried the Priceless and the Carlson code, still no changes.

Am considering paying extra $23.39 and getting a two-car class upgrade. What kind of vehicle would this get me?

It may be that rates are dropping because of cancelations due to the stormy situation in Florida. Reduced demand, greater supply = drop in price.

still looking for anyones feedback on using the upgrade coupon for an additional $24.00.

RWE.... - According to their website, two upgrades over an intermediate would put you at a Premium car (Buick LeSabre or similar). Is the $24 for the entire rental period or per day? If it is per day I would personally pass on the upgrade - if it is for the entire rental - go for it!
Christine

The $24 is for the entire trip (5 full days). I guess my only hang up is that we have always been lucky with what we found on the Emerald Aisle, however, there are usually only 3 of us. This time there will be 4 and that is why I am a bit concerned about space and room for the luggage. However, since are staying at DVC, we don't need to pack as much either.

I was going to do the EA with an Intermediate as well.. but we have the four of us & my 14 yo DS is as big as my DH so we opted for the Full size with Emerald Reserve instead. We booked 8 days (11/5-11/13) at $191.xx. We used the Priceless code & the Entertainment coupon & I might add have rebooked twice in the past 10 days for a savings of over $40. BTW you might want to check out the EA thread... I don't think people have been quite as lucky with upgrades through EA lately.

The best I can get for a 5 day rental using EA in mid October is also $124.82 using AMEX and $20 off weekly rate.

My rate dropped over $20. We are going on a weekend, Oct. 8-11. I am paying $62 for EA intermediate. Every time I have been at MCO EA there has been many cars to choose from.

Even when we arrived late (11:00 pm) last Sept., there were still plenty of cars left on the EA. That being said, if you feel more comfortable paying the extra to ensure you get a bigger car, I would just do it. $24 is really not that much extra for the peace of mind.

The upgrade will get you into a full size car.
The way it runs at National is:
compact
intermediate
standard
full size

If you do a mock reservation and put in the class of car you are upgrading from it will tell you what your upgrade will entitle you to.

When checking rates for my recent trip I had that coupon and when I put in compact it got me to a standard (Monte Carlo) and when I put in intermediate it got me to a full size.
Hope this helps.
