Last minute gift dilemna... video game related

We did agree on no gifts, but then he bought me a bunch of things and I feel like I need to get him something.

I had gotten him a shirt and something little. He really wants to buy a 4 wheeler, and I am against it right now b/c we should really use that money for the baby gear we need to buy. So... this present is sort of a bribe to hold him over for the winter if he doesn't buy the 4 wheeler.

He had a Wii last year but sold it because he didn't like playing sports games with that controller. I know he does really want a system, but probably thinks I will be mad if he spends $500 on it. Of course, here I go doing the same thing. :)

Last night, I did buy a PS3, Rockband and a gift cert so he can buy his own game.

Thanks for the info. Yes, we have an HDTV.. just got it a few months ago. He has mentioned wanting a Blu Ray player, but I refuse to pay $30 for a movie. (I saw the Bodyguard for $32 recently... so not worth it.)

He mostly plays the EA sports types of games (golf, football, etc.)

Maybe the PS3 is the one he'd want...
Blu Rays don't have to cost that much. If you pay attention to when they come out and when they go on sale you can get then at comparable prices to DVDs. I've never paid more then $22.00 for Blu Ray/DVD/Digital Copy combo packs and quite often get them for around $18.00. It's all about timing and research.;)

Interstingly, many Blu-Ray players upscale the resolution of DVD playbacks, improving their picture quality. Some are so good that many cannot tell the difference between Blu-Ray or DVD disks.

True, true but I'm also in the process of upgrading VHS tapes, lol, so I'm on always on the hunt for the combo packs at a good price.

OP, glad you found something you think your DH will be happy with.

I know you already bought it, but ill add my two cents. I have both a 360 and ps3, which I have both had since the day they came out. I do not think the ps3 has even been turned on in a year. I much prefer the controller for the 360, and while my hands are not big by anymeans the ps3's are just to small and uncomfortable to use. Not to mention that if you forget to charge them you are out of luck if you want to play since you cant just add batteries like the 360 ones.
