Last minute deals?

Hi,

We're already going to Orlando for vacation the week beginning 1/9, and have decided to take the little one to Disney for a few days.

Couple of questions for the experts on the board, please:

1. We are seriously considering getting a hotel room only for two nights (Disney) for the convenience with a UPH ticket for three days (the Magic Your Way won't work for us b/c we're doing such a short trip, I think). Are there any last minute hotel deals we can take advantage of?

2. How difficult is it to get to the parks and park if we were to stay elsewhere in Orlando and just rent a car and use Park Hopper Plus tickets? Do those tickets expire in one year, or are those unlimited expiration? I'd be inclined to buy 7 day Plus tickets and save on the hotel.

We're FL residents and one time we were on our way to Disney after visiting another city for the day and we called and got a hotel room with the FL resident rate for that night. It's possible to get a good rate at the last minute. I'm not sure about other last minute deals - another DISer might be able to help.

Do you already have park hopper passes? I thought they were doing away with park hoppers and you have to use Magic Your Way. Another DISer might know. We have park hopper plus and regular park hoppers and they don't expire.

Once the MYW tickets go on sale Jan 2 you can't buy the PHP anymore. You would need to buy them this week.

I'm sure this has been covered before, but what about old PH passes? They will hopefully still be good? I have 3 days left over from my trip last spring break and wanted to use them this upcoming spring break

I always stay onsite for the convenience. Of course you can save money by staying elsewhere. If you do make sure you give yourself plenty of travel time, their is usually a lot of traffic heading into WDW and the parking lots also get very congested. I like being able to just hop on a bus and not have to worry about driving or traffic. You can just start relaxing from your day at the park. Have a wonderful trip!
