Not sure where to post this.....
Does WDW ever offer last minute deals on rooms? Say I decide Thursday to drive down for the weekend, will the non rented room prices be negotiable? Does anyone have any experience with this? We have had luck offsite when we decide de to head down the night before our i property stay starts, just wondering about onsite rooms. Thanks in advance!

Definitely call and ask...when they tell you the price per night, tell them what your budget is and see if they will match it.

Any hotel (Disney or not) would rather have a head in the bed for less than their standard rate, than to have the room empty for the night.

Read the book Heads in Beds by Jacob Tomsky for other great hotel tips. ;)

Welcome to the Dis FLmummy:) What you say makes total sense, but I've always guessed that Disney was pretty inflexible on rates. But if others have scored deals, good luck to Disney Dad Ga:thumbsup2

I've never gotten great last minute deals staying onsite at Disney.

We called once as we were driving down and were only quoted full price so we stayed offsite and got a great deal.

On my last long weekend trip just a week and a half ago, I called to see if I could add a day onsite and the only places available were very expensive suites. So I stuck with my offsite plans again.

I wish you luck!

We made same day reservations a few times when living in FL and always paid rack rate. We couldn't even get FL resident rates the times we tried.

No Disney will not negotiate rates based on availability. You had luck with that due to the amount of off site hotel rooms that exist in Orlando (a ton). We are FL's residents and will randomly come down with the Florida resident rate that pretty much runs all year, but we can't be very picky depending on the resort can't always get the GF last August we had to take the Poly.
