Hi! This will be my first cruise on the Fantasy and I have cruised on the other three Disney ships. Our cruise is March 5th which is a Star Wars theme. I appreciate any help you can give!

1. Since we have the Star Wars day, will we also have the Pirates Night?
2. I am not a big SW fan. Will I feel out of place for not dressing up in a costume?
3. My daughter really wants to do Tea with Wendy. Since it is a 7 night cruise, I assume that our cruise will have this, right? If so, do you get tickets on the first day like the character meet and greets? Is it hard to get?
4. Is there a charge for the cooking classes?
5. Someone mentioned eating a soufflé at the Royal Court. Where is this? I love the chocolate soufflé at Palo so would love any details about this!
6. Lastly, this cruise will be just my daughter, 17, and me, her mom. I can't imagine eating at Palo alone. Any suggestions from cruisers with only 1 adult would be great! She absolutely LOVES going to the kids clubs (Vibe) so I will have plenty of time by myself.

1. Yes, there is a Pirate night still. But, from what I've read, the fireworks will only be on the Star Wars Day (night).
2. I'm sure there will be others not dressed up (I wouldn't, if I were on one of those cruises)
3. There is no Tea with Wendy on the Fantasy, as far as I know. There is a Royal Court tea (cost extra).
5. Probably the Grand Marnier Souffle that's on the Signature menu.
6. You certainly can go to Palo (or Remy) by yourself. Or you could see if there's a Cruise Meet thread started for your cruise, and chat them up to see if someone would like to join you.

I just got back from the February 6 SWDAS cruise.

1. Yes, on Monday, although there is no Pirate menu or fireworks. The special menu and fireworks are on SWDAS (Wednesday).
2. Most people are in costume, a lot wear closet cosplay, and others wear Star Wars clothing items of some sort. I don't think you'll feel out of place not wearing a costume, but you might if you don't have at least a shirt or something. It's kind of like not dressing like a pirate on pirate night; it's not necessarily a bad thing, and as long as you have a good attitude about the event, you'll be fine.
3. I didn't notice anything about tea, sorry.
4. Nope.
5. There were a few souffles listed on the various dessert menus.
6. Lots and lots of time in the Quiet Cove and Satellite Falls. :)

I would have no hesitation at all in going to Palo/Remy by myself. They are that good, especially Remy.

But if dining alone is not your thing, then I would head to Senses as soon as you get on board and pick up one of those week-long Rainforest Room passes. Best deal on the ship.

Thanks everyone for your help! I decided to make a Palo brunch reservation but it won't let me. I started trying anything that was still available and as soon as I get to the point of checking availability, it says it is no longer available for my size party. Apparently they don't want parties of one!

This late in the game, there may not be any reservations for brunch available. It's only served on sea days, which limits how many reservations there are. DCL does hold back some reservations for booking onboard. In the Navigator you get at check in at the port, it will list where the Palo dining changes are being handled. Go there to see if they have anything available, or get put on the wait list.

Good luck.

Oh, also, keep an eye on the reservations online all the way up to your cruise. People have until 3 days out from the cruise to cancel reservations with no penalty. Something could open up. That's how we got Palo on our first cruise - about 3 weeks out a reservation opened up.

I just booked the same sailing ..myself, hubby ..my daughter may come but she's 31! Her friend is an officer on the ship so I doubt I'll see her much..
I managed to snag all the specialty dining over the past week since booking...despite when I booked it having nothing available showing so hang in there and keep trying.

Have fun!!!
