Last Minute Christmas Week trip

Hello! We were just at WDW during the last week in August. We enjoy that week since it is less crowded! I want to surprise DD13 with a trip mainly to see the decorations. I know it's going to be way too crowded for our liking. I was thinking of staying offsite since airfare is so high on short notice. I can get a free night a the Dolphin and a decent rate but not until 1/1 and I was thinking being there on NYE would be fun. But, having said that, would probably not stay for midnight fireworks since I can get DD to even stay for the regular fireworks. We watched them from the beach at the Polynesian in August. This will be a short 2 to 3 day trip. Thinking just two parks, MK and HS.

Am I crazy to even consider staying offsite since we won't have EMH hours? I'm thinking I won't even be able to get FP+s at this point either. Thinking of coming 12/31 to 1/3 or 1/4.

EMH wouldn't be my main concern. The parks fill to capacity that week and they will close for non onsite guest.

At most phases of closure, yes this means you will get in. You will have an advantage over offsite guests as far as getting in.

Is there any room at all at the Dolphin on NYE?

I know it would be expensive, but the on-site phase privileges and the EMH would probably make me consider it anyway...

NYE at the Dolphin was booked. I wound up booking the 1st to the 4th.

Is there a list of the current closing phases and who is allowed in anywhere? I'm lightly planning an easter thing since a few of us will be in the area anyway and we've never been to WDW on an actual holiday and even crowded, we'd like to experience it at least once.

The seven DTD (DS?) Hotels are also given on-site status when it comes to phased closures (if you arrive at the parks on their buses). The Hilton there also has EMH through 12/31/15 (the contract is expiring).
