We have been all set with our character dining reservations since the summer, but I have a friend at work who decided at the last minute that he's going to take his little girl to Disney the same time we are. He was unable to get Disny property for sleeping when he called last week, and now he trying to get a character breakfast/ or other meal.
(see my ticker below, and this pretty much matches his trip timing as well)

When he told me this my reaction was this:
:rotfl2:
. . . and a bit of this:
:lmao:

Does he actually have any chance to get some type of princess meal as a stand by, or is that a useless gesture?

What advice if any should I give him?'

Thanks.

When are you going? They just started taking ADR's for Donalds Safari Breakfast at AK so if you're going late November or after, you could get that.

i'd say keep trying. lots of people have posted that they just kept calling every day and eventually something opened up. sending pixie dust their way :wizard:

He will be there columbus day week - 2007!

Not sure about the Princess Breakfastes, but I've often had last minute b'fst at Crystal Palace, Cape May & Breakfastosaurus.

We walked in to Cape May our last trip and had NO wait. I wouldn't advise just showing up, but there MAY be hope.

1900 Park Fare in the Grand Floridian is usually easy to get in even without ADR's. Haven't done it in a while so I dont remember what characters are there. Good luck:thumbsup2

I would tell him to give it a try - you never know what might open up.

We were offered SAME DAY reservations at CRT in January of this year - 6:30pm for Dinner (we inquired at 3:00pm)! Granted, it was raining that day and in the 50's.

Point is, you never know what might be available, so why not give it a shot?!

Try 1900 Park Fare for dinner with Cinderella and a great meal for Daddy. Depending on her age breakfast or lunch at Hollywood & Vine in MGM (requires park ticket). That meal features characters from the Playhouse Disney shows Little Einstein's and Jo Jo's Circus, I would say 6 is about the oldest child I'd take there (unless they have a younger child in the group).

Also here is a tip, if he can change his hotel arrangements, tell him to keep calling for an on site room. Room only reservations can be cancelled w/o penalty up to 6 days before arrival. I would say its very likely that he could even get onsite accomodations for his last minute trip.

Thanks for all of the tips.
I passed the recommendations on.
