So they original amount they show is 5999? And they say you owe $3000?

I would call my local news station and tell them my story, don't use the words pin or code, people won't understand, say discount.

does Disney deal with so many liars and cheats that they are no longer able to give customers the benefit of the doubt WHEN you have documentation and WE all KNOW that ressies and history can be wiped out with a keystroke!

I just finished an 18-month dispute with the IRS and your situation trumps mine. I hate the "fax us" demand - like all of us have access to a fax machine. Personally, I think all faxes just end up on the floor so at least WDW got the fax....

Hang in there and hang tough, you have the documentation - sounds like they will have an overbook situation at the resort so lst ones to check in will get the BUMP.

Maybe we've reached a situation where CUSTOMERS need to start taping the phone calls the way they do. That way there will be no disputes.

I am hopeful it all gets straightened out to everyone's satisfaction.

However I see no good coming from threats of news media, attorney, or whatever. Don't you think everything is covered already?
I have a reservation, and in my confirmation e-mail is this:

Disney reserves the right to cancel or modify a room reservation (including after the room reservation has been confirmed) if the room reservation includes or resulted from a mistake or error of any kind, including but not limited to, a mistake or error in the rate, resort or room type, or where it appears that a guest has engaged in fraudulent or misleading activity in making the room reservation.

I am certain this is standard in every guests e-mails and documents.

Still wishing you good thoughts and PD. :wizard:

Not with Disney, but a mortgage company that was fraudulant, I made them go back and listen to their tapes. They admitted they were wrong, but the response was still Tough Luck and just stopped taking my calls. I should have turned them over to the Atty General's office. (And it is not a fly by night outfit either, but a household name.) But sometimes the stress just is not worth it.

Wow, I am so sorry this is happening to you! What they are saying just doesn't make sense.

I agree with the previous poster that said the CM probably screwed up the original reservation when you checked on the Visa code. Quick question, was your reservation paid in full when you checked on the Visa code? Perhaps the reservation was opened and reverted back to rack rate with the $2999 applied as a deposit to the total of $5999 leaving a balance of $3000...

BUT, did you confirm what they have you down for now - room type, concierge, # of people on reservation, 2000 pillows as The Rusty Scupper said :) ? $5999 is double what you were originally paying. The 40% discount you originally had was on the room portion. Tickets and DDP are standard price - can't see how the price could increase by $3000 even if it reverted back to RR. That would be an additional $428.50 a night

As an example, rack rate for the Poly Garden View for 7 nights 2A 2C (4yrs old) 7 day MYW Hoppers / water park and DDP is $3998.26/ AAA rate = $3665.14 You might want to price out your original vacation on the WDW site so you can see the rack rate total.

Of course they should honor your original reservation and you shouldn't even have to worry about the prices. I only mention it because the $$ WDW is kicking around sounds incorrect and it might help your case by pointing it out.

Best of luck getting this straightened out! I hope your vacation is super special with all the nonsense you are going through.

Unbelievable- I am so sorry this is happening to you and your family& hoping it all works out- Jen

:scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
WOW, I am so sorry this is happening to you, I sure hope this all works out. PLEASE keep us posted.

Let this be a lesson to us all-when you make your first call to set up a trip, inform them before you start talking that you are recording the conversation for your records.

I have just read all 4 pages and am on the edge of my seat! I so hope that this gets fixed for you!

Hope I can answer some of the above questions.
Yes, all of my specifics of the package are exactly the same. I would also mention, it is for CR 14 th floor club level, hence the prices.
It is alarming me that I now see another post of a very similar circumstance on this board. I also recall seeing may posts here re: unreceived final documents , which is what seems to have prompted the inquiry into my situation.
That was probably a good thing, I could just see me checking in at the desk and WDW holding out their hand saying"Where is the rest of our $$$$$"
As another poster stated, I am so beyond agitated at this point, that although I want to scream my head off at them, my experience has been that the supervisors, have been accusatory, condescending, unintelligent and very, very passive aggressive.
At the point I asked for the contact info for her boss, I was told " there is no-one above me, I am in charge" I find it very hard to believe that this person is the be all and end all in WDW travel !:rotfl:
All that said, I could definantely see this nasty" you-know-what"
deleteing my whole reservation, obviously hardcopy proof is not good enough for Disney. If this does not get resolved to my liking, I will be e mailing the entire WDW chain of command, as a matter of fact, another DISer posted it not too long ago, I tried search, but couldn't locate, so if anyone has the post, it would be greatly appreciated.I will also conatct the local news outlet consumer advocate reporters,I'm sure they would love to take on Disney!
At this point, it has become a point of order, I would not want anyone else to have to go through this !

Well, I had 2 nights booked at BWI GS last July. They were booked as 2 separate ressies and included 1 park admission for each person on the ressie (3 people). I got it for an unbelievable price and paid in full at the time of booking. They were booked online in Sept. of 2006. The ressies showed online that they were both paid in full. I admit I took advantage of a glitch on their online booking site, but it was their mistake, not mine! About 3 months later, I received a bill from Disney showing that I owed $600 and some dollars on a "paid in full" ressie for our first night. At the 45 day cancellation date, I cancelled. They never did charge me anything for the 2nd night. So they most certainly can and have changed prices on paid ressies. I thought for sure when I checked in for that 1 glorious night, that they would demand the additional monies on that ressie also, but they didn't. And we were treated like royalty!

OP, I hope this gets resolved for you. Sending pixie dust your way. pixiedust: pixiedust: :wizard:

Just an FYI

In the past ( but that does NOTmean that Disney will in the future) if Disney has a computer glitch they will honor 1 night at the glitch price. They will contact you and request the readjusted balace on any additional nights you have booked.

When you check into the resort the CM's have no way of knowing how much you paid for your room so they treat you just like they treat any other guest.

omg!
i really hope all works out for you. i am on the edge of my seat reading all of this!
:grouphug: from my dis family to yours!

Bless your heart! The anticipation of a Disney visit should be happy, not frustrating! Wishing you a happy end to this mess...

Wow, I hope you're able to get it all straightened out! It's very scary that things can so easily be changed or wiped out on Disney's computers and they have no way to see the original infomation, and then they won't honor the proof that you gave them.

They had computer glitches concerning my dining both times that I was there this year, but that's nothing compared to what happened to you 10 days before your trip. Me thinks they need to really update their computer system.

I don't want to add to your anxiety but it sounds like WDW priced your vacation wrong in the first place and now wants to make things right:

You have a 7 night package at the CR 14th floor concierge plus dining with 2A
2C 7 day MYW + Hopper tickets - that package at rack rate would come out to roughly $5999 as they are stating.
That would make your room in value season around $4213 rack rate inc tax.

With a 40% discount room would be around $2528 add 2A DDP ($545) and 2C DDP ($153.86) 7day MYW + Hopper tickets 2A ($562) 2C ($482) (keep in mind, I am estimating so #'s will not be dead on, but you will get the idea)

Total discounted room pkg @ 40% = about $4270. Which would be a great deal...You are saying that you paid $2999 - $1271 difference.

Sounds like a computer glitch to me or original CM error that they may look to correct (and may be within their rights to do so based on the paperwork and what others have posted).

Again, I really hope things work out for you; just wanted to point out the numbers so you can really see what you are dealing with. Good luck!

BTW, Disney can charge you extra once your bill is paid. Several years ago the county changed their tax rate. At check in you were charged the difference.

Have you talked with Guest Relations?

They DID NOT honor (even 1 night) during last summer's BW glitch for the garden suites...except for the poster here in the thread (must've fallen thru the cracks lol)

My ressie pkg was paid for, i had confirmation, etc...after 2 months they called me & said it would be cancelled unless i remitted the balance (rack rate)...wouldn't even offer AAA or current promo or a standard room @ the rate:confused3

Their reasoning is that pricing errors aren't valid (either made by machine or CM) - and it is stated on website & ressie confirmation...they have dotted their i's & crossed their t's.

Interesting comment that everyone i spoke to referenced: a prudent person would know there's a mistake when they receive an offer that is too good to be true?:headache:

FYI, there was a similar situation class-action suit a few years ago filed by a lawyer who had the same experience; it was thrown out.

to the OP, regardless of how this turns out; hope your family gets to enjoy WDW

I am so sorry you are having such a rough time.

but i too booked the 40% code at the CR here is what we got.

CR 6 nights standard view garden wing Dec. 15th-21st
7 day park hoppers only
2-adults
1- 4 year old
1-13 year old
Dining plan
No trip insurance
$2863.00

I can't believe you were able to get atrium level for just $100.00 more than me. Maybe that is the problem. Maybe their original quote was for a standard room. Who knows. but they shouldn't of waited till now to try and get ahold of you. Also if you weren't paid in full at 45 days and they didn't contact you then it makes me wonder if something was changed in the system after the 45 day mark. did you call after 45 days to check on another discount of anything? Who knows I just hope they can figure it out. Also everyone always has a boss! I'm sure you can find someone over her. LOL

Thanks for the info about the Glitch.
I know that thare was Florida Resident Glitch in Auguest of 2005 and that was the glitch to which I was referring.
It was a major glitch.
One Dis'ner reported she booked these dates at these prices for a room with 4 adults.
Oct.13-17..Coronado Springs $60.32 (with tax & the glitch)
Nov.23-27..Coronado Springs $26.88 (with tax & the glitch)

At those rates taxes on the rooms were not even covered.

WDW started calling all the guests that booked the glitch rate and told them they will honor the rate for the first night only! This was for the people who had put the one night room deposit down.

Disney does have a right not to honor computer glitches. I think they can also charge more if a mistake has been made on the original charge which is why sometimes they ask for hard evidence if they think a mistake has been made.
It is a good thing the OP still has the original email about the discount code.

Just my 2 cents.
