Last minute and cheap UP trip?

Is it possible to book a cheap but nice place for sat and sun of labor day weekend? I'm looking at pictured rocks and grand Marias.

It can be a hotel or rental for 4. I'd appreciate any ideas as I want to go, but i really went hard at it with travel this summer.

I'm guessing from the pictured rocks you mean the Upper Peninsula of Michigan? Not everyone is familiar with that term.

I don't have any recs but the pictured rocks are neat to see. I have family in Gladstone. I know there aren't a ton of chain hotels so you might need to google the area you want to stay to see what's there. Hopefully someone can give a suggestion too.

Yes, the upper peninsula of Michigan. I was hoping to avoid the 3 day holiday policy that most rentals have. I can't make it up there until Saturday due to my travel schedule.

Au Train and Munising are nice -- or Marquette's a bit farther away. There's a Holiday Inn Express in Munising, but it looks like it's booked for Labor Day.
