I had my hair cut today, and my stylist had new lash extensions. She also told me she is thinking about getting certified. I trust her implicitly, she is a great professional.......so I am considering giving it a try if she goes through with it.
So, anyone with lash extensions? Tell all!

What is lash extension? Eye lashes? subscribing to this thread as I would be interested as well.

Yes! While I don't have them now, I've had them in the past and loved them!! It's been a year or so since I had them so perhaps things have changed a bit since, but the one down side (for me) was that mascara wasn't recommended and while I had great length with the extensions I would've liked the volume boost mascara would've provided. I did wear a bit of mascara on occasion but wound up losing the extensions more quickly every time I tried it.

One other small issue although I'd never let it stop me from doing them again... the stylist that did them for me hadn't purchased her chair yet. Lying flat on my back that long got uncomfortable after awhile.

Still... I'll definitely do it again one day! :) Have fun!!

Nope, not me. I'm not letting a stylist mess around my eyes nor would I mess with anyone's eyes. It is something I am adament about.

Good luck though.

Who would get lash extensions? Seriously that is strange.
Isn't this what mascara and fake eyelashes are for? And that medicine Latisse or whatever than Brooke Shields is pimping? (which I also think is very weird)

I have never heard of them but would like to know more about the process. My mom has permanent eyeliner on and I am seriously considering that big time. I have sight problems and getting my makeup on and right is becoming a bit harder and will become even harder in the fulture.

How long do the eyelash extensions last? How much do they cost?

Agreed. That freaks me out - it was frightening enough to do the eye surgery with professionals!

Another interesting tidbit of fun trivia...the steriods I was prescribed for after the eye surgery ended up raising the pressure in my eyes to scary levels, much like glaucoma (which I didn't know before!) so I was then taken off the steriods and prescribed a glaucoma medication. The doctor made some comment about my lashes already being ridiculously big, and when I gave him a puzzled look he explained that they figured out that a side effect of the meds were growing longer thicker lashes, and in fact they were just about to sell it as a lash grower. So, that crap that Brooke Shields is hawking is actually glacoma medication. Makes it a little weirder, huh?

Its funny you should mention that, DH and I saw the commercial the other day and he commented why would anyone develop an eyelash thickener med and I said I figured it was a side effect of another med they decided to market!

My BFF has lash extensions and she absolutely loves them. She has had them for 1.5 years. She gets them filled every 3 weeks to the tune of $55 a pop - the original installation was $150. Every 2 weeks would be better but it doesn't fit into her budget. By week 3 they are starting to look rather beat up and sparse. When she first gets them done they are just gorgeous.

My hair gal recently started doing them also and the more she does the better they look. My nail chick had them but she didn't like them, she said it was to hard for her to leave them alone and not touch, rub etc.

My BFF does say that sometimes they annoy her and the fact that she can't rub her eyes can sometimes be frustrating, especially during allergy season but she wears no mascara and her eyes really "pop". BFF has green eyes and her lash chick added a few purple lashes, it is extremely subtle and even looking right at them you cannot see the purple but her eyes really stand out even more so than before the purple was added.

I have heard they do not do as well in hot humid climates.

Give it a try, worst case you take them off. I would advise that until your hair girl gets good at them expect to be able to see some of the glue. As she gets better there will be no evidence of glue. My BFFs look as natural as if she grew them herself.

;)Now, you being a Boise Bronco fan and me a UNR Wolfpack fan.....just shows that rivals can be friends too! :goodvibes

Thanks ! We always root for the wolfpack at the humanitarian bowl when we aren't playing :)

I have the eyelids that sag, and they will only get worse.....even now my mascara leaves marks on my lids. I also have super fragile skin around my eyes, and getting mascara off is really doing damage even when done well.
I seriously think this might be an option in the future. I wear blue mascara because it really deepens the green in my hazel eyes.......so very subtle colored lashes sounds cool too.
