My Italian MIL makes teeny tiny meatballs for her lasagna. They are worth the time it takes to roll those little meatballs and so cute too LOL
Last time I made it like that I used about 1/3 of a pound of meat to make them.
I bake the meatballs first then add to the sauce.

And where I live, ricotta only has two syllables. I think I will make some for dinner - I have some sauce in the freezer. Mine is simple, because the kids like it meatless, so just pasta, sauce, mozzarella, ricotta/egg mixture, and some seasoning.
