can you help me find the best deal or how to look for hotel and flight thanks for your help

Kayak.com or itasoftware.com for flights.
Fatwallet.com for hotel deals.
The DIS Las Vegas board (California and the West) and EverythingLV.com for questions.
CheapoVegas.com and LasVegasAdviser.com for general deals.

We were married in Vegas last year and used AAA to book our hotel. We got a better deal thru them then if our friend who works for the hotel booked with her employee discount.

august in the desert will be brutally hot. be prepared.

vegas is much MUCH cheaper from sunday night to thursday night, so i'd change that if you can.

you can also keep hotel prices down by watching the convention schedules and trying to avoid the larger conventions.

this is a good site to shop for hotel deals.

bally's is a well-located, budget-friendly hotel on the strip.

I just got back and had another great time. Go to Total Rewards.com and they will give you rates on all their hotels. I also go to a site chepo Vegas and that also should help.I would stay on the Strip because that is where all the action is.

Vegas in August will be hotter than Hades! DO NOT plan on walking from hotel to hotel. They are way too far apart. What looks so close from the hotel window can actually be a mile away. Plan on renting a car (you do not have to pay to self-park at the hotels) or take a taxi. Beware that traffic on the strip is horrendous and a few taxi rides could could easily cost more than renting a car for several days. We were there in October one year and it took us 20 minutes to drive from the Mandalay Bay to the Excalibur, about half a mile. Then we discovered the side streets!

Hotel rates will definitely be cheaper if you avoid Friday and Saturday nights. Also, hotels just off the strip can save you a fortune. The Orleans is a nice one on Tropicana, a block off the strip. Go to the websites for some of the bigger hotels and sign up for their newsletters to get promo codes by email.

thanks everbody..i will look at all the web sites and maybe i will change the time i go .i dont it to be to hot.maybe i will change it sept or oct.i will look all the months thanks once again

i went last fall the first week of Oct. we had a freak cold snap so it was too cool (did not even hang poolside) but otherwise it would have been perfect. we are from NJ so my friend got a deal with her total rewards that she uses when we got to AC. it was for bally's which is not as luxurious as others but A) the room was nice B) it connects to Paris so we went there for lunch and the taxi stand there was actually closer to our room C) it was conveniently located for walking. i dunno if you can sign up for a card online but if you can join online you may want to try that or shop on orbitz as we saw hotels there for 50-75 a night before we got the deal we booked.

taxis ran us 7-8 to most casinos there when we went out at night. with tip it was $10 for each of us roundtrip. the monorail was the same cost and the bus was not that much cheaper so i highly recommend taking taxis if a few dollars will not break the bank. also as I walk thru NYC each day and my friend runs we did not find the walk to two or three casinos down the strip to be too exhausting or far. think of it like Epcot :goodvibes

we got flights on orbitz by watching and booking when it seemed to go as low as it would.

don't forget restaurants.com . food there is wonderful and they have some high end restaurants on there that you can buy. i bought the certificates ($25-$50 value) for 2-3 each or so when codes came up. i think there is a limit on one per table, but it was only the two of us so we usually just met the min. food requirement and it knocked a lot off our bills.

there is plenty of cheap and free things to do so we hardly spent money on entertainment. they also have tix4tonight booths which sell tickets to shows for cheap.

happy planning!

Do not rent a car as suggested earlier! If you stay mid strip you can walk back and forth between numerous casinos with only being outside for a limited amount of time. I would find it miserable to have a rental car in Vegas because trafic is horrible (unless you plan on traveling outside of vegas). They have monorails (some free and some with a charge that will get you where you want to go) or you can take the city bus which is cheap. If you stay at the end of the strip you can walk between MGM, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, NYNY, Monte Carlo with only a limited amount of time outside and to walk to the mid strip casinos is probably a 15 minute walk. You will find the cheapest hotels mid strip....Flamingo, Imperial Palace, Ballys, Harrahs and cheap drinks are all over mid strip (ex: $1 Michelobs/Margaritas at Casino Royale next to Harrahs). If you want to get to the casinos off strip like the Hard Rock or the Rio there are shuttles from some of the hotels. Navigating Vegas is pretty easy once you figure it out, I just know I like to partake in alcohol in Vegas and the last thing I would want is to get behind the wheel of a vehicle....it's vacation, let someone else drive. Have fun !

I just wanted to add to what the person who suggested you rent a car said.....She said it took them 20 minutes to drive from Mandalay Bay to the Excalibur, the hotels are connected by an indoor walkway (10 minute walk through the Luxor from Mandalay Bay to Excalibur without ever setting foot outside of the AC) or by free monorail that connects Mandalay Bay/Luxor/Excalibur......probably 2 minutes and again in the AC. I know they are trying to help but obviously giving you bad info. They said how bad Vegas traffic is.....that is the best piece of advice they gave, it is vacation let someone else drive or walk!

Look for tickets flying out of MBS. We booked directly with Delta last June for our trip in 3 weeks and got an awesome deal. Less than $300 per person round trip. If you book early you might get a great deal too. We also booked our hotel around the same time directly through the hotel. We are paying less than $400 for 6 nights on the strip including the weekend.

Our last 2 trips to Vegas were at the end of September and we still had high 80's low 90's both times.

If you need any other info just let me know.

i agree - if you are staying on the strip for a few days, don't rent a car. just take a shuttle or taxi to and from the airport and get some exercise by walking around. (it is farther to walk from one resort to another than you might think, though - a vegas block is roughly 3 times larger than a typical one. :) )

We vacationed there a few years ago and we did stay off-strip (The Orleans) but who knows you may get deal on the strip. If you do stay off-strip, make sure you take note of the shuttle's operating hours. I agree, if you walk, you'll need comfy shoes it's ALOT of walking even within the hotels.

I found this website to be very helpful, check out 'things to do' on the tabs above.
