Las Vegas question Don't know if this is the right place

OP, don't feel bad about asking how mush drinks cost. It can have nothing to do with how much money you HAVE to spend, but how much you are WILLING to spend. Most people that do well with their money are very careful about what they spend their money on and how much they pay for it and how can they get a better deal.

Obviously, the pp that questioned you has never heard of CLark Howard, He has a huge amount of money and questions everything and is horribly cheap. (not saying you are cheap, but Clark is) He can afford just about anything he wants, but won't and that is why he has a ton of money.

Have fun in Vegas.

depends on where you are staying or which pool bars you are planning to visit. This is why you are getting such a wide range of answers. Drinking at the Rio pool bar is quite different price wise than drinking at the Wynn pool bar.

DH's parents live in Vegas and we went out to visit them this past December. Neither of us drink alcohol but we do enjoy virgin mixed drinks. I believe we paid anywhere from $6-$8 for a virgin drink.

I'd budget $10 per drink. Have a good time! :)

Funny you should mention that, sunnyday13 ;).

While I wouldn't recommend bringing one's own bottle to the pool without checking the hotel's rules first (it's probably not okay, but who knows - what happens in Vegas and all :teeth: ), there's no reason you can't bring your own made-in-the-room supersize drink down with you. In fact, I think I'm going to get one of those refillable "water" bottles at CVS with the freezable core... Or, especially if whatever your shot-of-choice is happens to be clear, pour it into an empty water bottle and shoot away poolside :lmao:. Seriously.

Most of the pools at the big hotels in Vegas have a signle point of entry (maybe 2) with "security" (usually a life guard on duty at the entry location). Even if you are trying to walk into the pool area from their own bar, they will not let you bring the drink in. They want you to buy at the pool bars. I have successfully gotten water bottles and minor snacks (granola bars, 100-calories packs, etc) through, but that is it.

Like others have said, I would budget $10 per drink minimum.

Thanks for the responces guys! I'm staying at Paris, right in the middle of the strip. Its not the most expencive resort, but not the cheapest either. We plan on going to almost all the casinos just to look around and whatnot, we are not gamblers really. So many people ask me "If you don't plan on gambling, then why in the world are you taking a trip to Vegas?!" LOL But I want to go for the night life, a trip to the Grand Canyon, and just to relax and have a good time.
Again, thanks for the responces!

$7-$10 according to my mom who is a Vegas regular (just got back last night.)

Of course most of the pools have gaming tables and if you are playing they are free.

Absolutely budget $10 per drink in Vegas. You may luck out and be somewhere cheaper, but yeah that's how much we've paid at most of the bars for a simple mixed drink. Unless you are gambling, then $1-2 per drink for a tip.

Sports Books are more strict than in the past as well.

We get the frozen drinks. The tall one, at NYNY was $13 apiece I believe in March. Ask for a Miami Vice. Half pina colada half strawberry daquari. YUMMY!

Yep...$10 a drink sounds about right.

I went in April for my 21st birthday and stayed at PH. I got a daquiri for $10 in the mall (smallest size, which was still 20 oz! :scared1:), then went over to Grand Lux Cafe at the Palazzo and got a limoncello lemonade that was around the same price. Mixed drinks at the Wynn were $8 (they were the special of the day!)

I budgeted for drink money. However, the only one I bought was the daquiri (sister paid for the rest) and I didn't drink that much. Still, I can see how that could eat up a large chunk of change.
