Las Vegas Hotels

It looks nice but I read that you'll need to get a cab to get to the main part of the strip?

Yeah, no more free shuttle as another poster mentioned. There is a free tram that will take you from Mandalay, through Luxor, over to Excalibur, but then it's still quite a hike to get to center strip. That said, cabs and uber are really cheap if you want to get dropped off somewhere.

they have a monorail thats really cool, but you got to get a pass for that, but not to much money

Yeah...if anyone rides the monorail and finds an eyeglass case, can ya let me know:rolleyes:

I like New York New York, but it's far away from the main area like Ceasars, Flamingo, and Mirage.

but the south side of the strip is the cleanest, and you can walk with out hundreds of card clickers and people asking you "where ya from, you going to a show tonight"
But we had so much fun messing with the card clickers!

There is nothing like the Wynn and Encore, they are SO beautiful. That said, during peak time there is no way on earth we would be able to afford them. However, in December when it's quieter, we get an amazing deal each year. Since we've started staying here, we haven't wanted to stay anywhere else, it's become a big part of our holiday.

I'm going for the Hard Rock. It looks out of the way, but it has nice amenities, and is fairly cheap.

I'm having trouble deciding on our hotel when we take our daughter for her 21st next year. I want to stay in the middle I think. But I don't know that the budget will accommodate for somewhere like Bellagio or Caesars. We stayed at Treasure Island last time and I really liked it, but I think I want to be more towards the middle. What do you guys think about Planet Hollywood?

I prefer hotels without a casino as it's a bit quieter in the evenings and I like to relax at "home." So I usually go for the Trump Hotel as it has a fairly reasonable price tag. It's just off the strip though so you'll end up walking a bit more but I actually really like the location as it's a bit quieter at that end.

Trump currently has a 20% off sale when booked through the website. Booked a room for 2 nights for June and it was $349 total including all taxes and resort fees.

I still don't get why anyone takes a taxi when uber is available. Taxis should be out of business in cities where Uber operates.

Which Caesars Entertainment property is the best for 50 somethings that have never been to Vegas? We have been given 4 nights comped to any property that they own so price isn't a concern. We're thinking about going mid June. We like to gamble but also like to visit other attractions and hang out at a pool.
Is it reasonable to rent a car and drive to the Grand Canyon for a day?

Caesers would be the best Caesar property, no question.

All things considered I still like the Mirage, good location good pool and good prices. If we upgrade we go to Bellagio. If its a high price weekend its Excalibur, good casino, great prices and good location. Vegas prices are amazing deals compared to what you get anywhere else. Never go too cheap. The best deals are the best hotels. Put a Wynn or Venetian room in NYC, London or Hawaii and it would be $1000 a night

It's 4 hours each way to GC from Vegas. So 8 hours in a car. I think it'd be better to drive to Sedona, enjoy a few sights. Then leave early in the morning and go to GC. Then you could finish back in Vegas in the evening if you want.
