Large party at CS?

Last summer, there were 10 of us eating lunch at Cosmic Ray's. We got there a few minutes after it opened up, and we were able to get a couple of tables together right away. Then, 3 of us went up to get all the food for everyone. We had no problem doing this.

Is something like this still allowed? Or do they make you order your food first and then look for a table? This would be difficult with a party of 10 on our next trip.

1) Usually, no problem.
2) On really busy days, you must
. . . get your food
. . . go get a table, AFTER getting the food
. . . no advance table, then getting food
3) But, this only happens on those truly busy days or holidays.
4) The exception is periods when huge rains dump down.
5) Last week, two eateries were overcrowded with people staying dry.
6) Until they bought their, food, no one got into seating areas.
7) This stopped people from taking tables just to keep dry.
8) They wanted the tables kept for those actually eating.

NOTE: When this is in effect, CM's will guard entrances to the
seating areas to prevent people from entering without food. When
a table opens up, you are directed to it. You can't wait for 2-3
tables to open together.

Thank you, this helps a lot! We're not going during a holiday, but we will be there the last week of July next year. I know this is still so far away but I plan ahead very much, and the main thing I am trying to figure out is if I should just make a lunch ADR at either Plaza or LTT for all of us on the MK day. For Epcot and DHS, we already know where we want to eat lunch, and both are TS.
