Laptop Help!

I am mostly a lurker, but I thought I would see if anyone knows a lot about computers. I am a college student, and I bought a laptop a few months ago. I let my roommate use it, and she put her memory card in it, and it got stuck. I am so upset, and I don't know if it can mess up the computer. Does anyone know if there is a way to get it out? I know I should not have even let her borrow it, but I thought she was doing homework, not playing around on facebook. Can anyone help me??
