O.K. I am new to a laptop - just got my first one in March. I have never traveled with a laptop before and I am bringing mine for the first time. I know there is internet service at OKW and I don't care about being wireless. Here's my question. Do I need to bring anything other than my laptop and my power cord/adapter? Do I need to bring an ethernet cable (hope that's spelled right)? As you can see, I am totally lost in regards to anything electronic. Do they supply everything I need to hook up? Thank you.

All villas should have an ethernet cable. It's usually in a bag hanging in the closet. You shouldn't need anything else.

I don't know about at OKW, but at both BCV and VWL, the cable was only about 5ft long, which was kinda a pain because the internet hookup in both those villas was at the kitchen table. At VWL, I needed to call tech support with problems with the internet, but neither the phone would reach the computer, nor would the computer reach the phone because both cables were short. I had to go back and forth!

Thanks everyone. Maybe I'll just pick up a longer cable when we arrive. I'm not sure where the internet is set up at OKW, but I thought I remembered seeing it in the LR area.

If you will be staying in a 1BR (or 2BR), the cable hookup is next to the dining table. The supplied cable will reach from that spot. If you really want some freedom, you can get a wireless router, commect that to the cable outlet and then you'd be able to use your laptop from anyplace - even out on the balcony (there's even an electric outlet there).

In addition to the cable hookup next to the dining table there was also one in the family room area in between the couch and love seat. In our 2 bedroom that is.

WOW! side note ------ I just hit my 3,000th post replying to this thread. Thanks for asking the question!

We'll be in a one bedroom. I think what I'll do is bring my long ethernet cable. I don't plan on using the laptop a lot so I think I'll be fine. Maybe next trip I'll be ready to try doing wireless. Again, thanks for all the replies.
