Lanyards ?

Okay, I was thinking about getting lanyards for my kids prior to our trip. I was looking online and realized that 90% of the ones I found online do not have the pouch for holding passes. Can I get just the pouch somewhere? Also it made me think, if my kids are not into pin trading is there any purpose to having the lanyard at all?

If someone could just give me a lanyard 101 course or direct me to one, that would be great!

You can buy the plastic pouches in WDW. They sell them for an extra fee of course!

Even if not pin trading the laynards are great for holding tickets and fastpasses without worrying about wallets and pockets. I am totally not into pin trading but did use the laynards for this purpose. (also sometimes if a CM sees you don't have any pins they give you one!)

I actually got mine at the Walmart we stopped at before going to our resort. It was about $3 I believe.

Check Ebay for lanyards - just do a disney lanyard search. I know for a fact that someone (hmm) sells a plain lanyard with a ziploc pouch and you can buy extra pouches, too.

With the no wristband EMH, I've heard that you have to show your resort ID for each ride for each person in your party, little kids too. Lanyards would be great for that!

We just got 3 lanyards for the specific purpose of carrying KTTW cards, etc. for EMH - but we do pin trading also.

A few days ago, there was a poster over on the pin trading board (I don't know the exact name of the board) - but she had some extra lanyards for trade - I sent her 3 of our trading pins and got 3 lanyards with pouches.

I found a lanyard/"ziplock" pouch at Wal*mart. For $5 it was bigger than the average ticket holder. It is "High School Musical", came with lipgloss, and is pink. My daughter is thrilled with it; I just thought I'd throw that idea out for anyone who might be interested.

Also, I second the ebay route. I found one auction that sold only the plastic zip pouch (both vertical and horizontal), but, alas, I did not bid on it soon enough. There are quite a few auctions going (some with free shipping). I just keep checking back to see what appeals to me. Happy shopping.

ETA: The HSM one is clear on the front also. Forgot to add that.

What about a lanyard with a change purse? Would it be easier to get a clear badge holder like the previous poster suggested? This is our first trip and I thought these would be easier to manage than a purse or bag and maybe less worrisome than just a pocket.

Any thoughts?

Also, does anyone know how much they are at the parks?
