Basically what do you hate about the way people speak

I would say people who say I tell it how it is.

Trends I dislike in language?

People using the term "reach out" instead of contact.
People using the term "Karen"
People using the phrase "Mansplaning"
People using the term "under housed" instead of homeless

Speaking in a physical position so that someone can barely hear you: head turned away from them, mumbling.

When writing, just use no more than two forms of emphasis. You do NOT have to use every single option throughout.

Overuse and abuse of the word "literally".

After receiving the announcement that Der Kommissar is in town, the proper response is "wuh-oh!".

I dislike when we are suddenly expected to refer to something with a more politically correct phrase or name and vilified if we forget for a moment. I am short and fat. I don't need to be referred to as vertically challenged and fluffy.

I also dislike the constant hurling of insults (racist, bigot, etc.) just because others have a different point of view. Defend your position and discuss things with civility and respect or keep your opinion to yourself, please.

you are spot on.

Also, I'm short & fat, too. Fluffy is the most ridiculous term....do not call me fluffy, call me what I am. Fat.

t-glottalization. DH has a T in the middle of his name, and he's about at the end of his rope with people dropping that T.

When someone, usually celebrities, gets something new (for example, a handbag), and in an interview they say they are "obsessed" with it. Really, obsessed? The item preoccupies your mind continually, intrusively and to a troubling extent? I don't hang on the words of celebrities, but I hear things and it drives me nuts every time.

A lot of different points of view actually are those things. Every “opinion” doesn’t deserve respect. There’s a lot of insult to hurl because there’s a LOT of those things you list out there.

Recommended reading for people who have issues with vocal fry.

The way we speak and the words we use represent our culture, geography, family makeup, exposure, and influence so I don’t really find anything unacceptable. Except maybe “make America great again.”
