I just ordered myself, DH, and DS winter jackets from Land's End. The "extreme squall jacket" for us, and for DS I got the "squall parka". I have never ordered jackets (or clothing for that matter) online, but I thought these were a good price, and it was easier than shopping around everywhere for them. Does anyone own these? How are they for warmth? Are they true to fit?

Thanks!

Jen

I think they run a bit large,so my long coat is a Large when i usually wear an extra large top.
Their quality and durability are great. They wash well. They are not too hot for my kids like the overstuffed down coats can be.They can be handed down looking good as new.

I have bought tons of stuff from Lands End over the past 25 years or so. I have never been disappointed with any product from them. I'm about ready to order my daughter a new jacket, probably a squall parka but she has really long arms so I am waffling on sizes.

I think the children's coats run a little bit large. We stared buying them when my older two DSs were about 4 and 8. My third son has warn them all -- he's wearing a squall this year that our oldest (age 21) got in fourth or fifth grade. When he finishes with that one, there is one more youth size one waiting for him. So, my three children wear them, then I give them to charity!

I have a Squall parka and a stadium coat that are approximately 12 and 5 years old, respectively.

As far as warmth goes, I live in the South, and they are plenty of warm for us. In colder climates, you would need to layer under the regular Squall.

We all just got squall jackets....The one I wanted for my DH (tall size) is normally $67.00. But someone posted that they had many of the squall colors in the overstock section...

Low and behold they were only $29.50.....So I bought all three of us one... for a little over what I would have paid for one. (they didn't have every color but my DH and DD are happy with theirs)

and lands end does run big/true to size....

I just ordered our jackets from Lands End too! I absolutely love their stuff. If for some reason the jackets don't ft you can return them at any Sears store. It's so much easier then packing it back up and shipping it!

I have gotten many Land's End jackets over the years. They are very warm, and very light weight! They were very well--the only reason I've ever bought a new one is because I got sick of the color.

You can't beat Lands End quality and service. They are great.

I just finished ordering new coats for DH & me from them about 5 minutes ago. I've never been disappointed w/ any coat I've ordered from them - or any clothes for that matter :)

i love land's end. i just wore my new winter jacket (from land's end) for the first time this morning.

they do tend to run large. my jacket is a large and it is a tad too big. (i ususlly wear xl or l, depending on the company.)

That is so great to know about Sears!
thanks!

I buy most of my kids clothes from Lands End. They do run a bit large, as do a lot of higher quality clothes. The coats are great. I grew up in the town where Lands End is located and all you see is Lands End coats, Lands End boots, Lands End clothes, so I don't wear them anymore myself. My mom gets an employee discount though so I bought some luggage for our DW trip last month. I love it!
