Have booked a land/sea for May 2005. Booked rooms at the Poly. Now I want to upgrade to a concierge room at the Poly. My TA ( AAA) said she could request it, but why can't she guarantee this? I am willing to pay extra$$ anyone know how this works

You should just book the land portion on your own and get the room you want at the Conciege level (obviously only if you still can cancel without penalty).

Special requests for rooms on the land/sea package seem to be difficult sometimes. Not sure how the process works.

We always just book our rooms at WDW separately from the cruise. It has always worked out cheaper for us.

We have done Yacht & Beach concierge and loved it. heard Poly concierge was wonderful.

Good luck

Hi JiffyMom,

We're staying at the Poly also in May 2005 for a land/sea combo. We are sailing on the May 8th Wonder. When are you going?

Jiffymom,

We tried to do the same thing on our 1st trip. The cost to upgrade was ridiculous. We ended up booking each part seperatly to get Poly Conceirge and actually saved money. Because of this we could use the DCL bus but we really enjoyed the personal towncar instead.

I highly encourage you to check into booking both portions seperately. That way you can get what you want at WDW and you may even save some money in the process.

We also upgraded to Poly on a land/sea. We were told that they only use certain rooms (not the best location we found and definitely not concierge) if you booked the room as part of the land/sea package. I would take the others advice and book seperately if you still can.

We're doing the same in March. Called about upgrade and it was over $900 a room!!

Too much for me for only 4 days on land.

We did the Poly on our land/sea last August. My mom has congestive heart failure and supposedly the TA said something about location because of this. Well we didn't get anything very close and they didn't have anything to move us to. We're doing the same thing in June and I am going to tell the TA again. Is there just a certain building(s) that they put you in when you're on the land/sea? I had heard something like this before.

I'd like to know too although I will say when I called DCL they did say they would try to honor requests just as if you were to have booked room only or a land only vacation so I'm assuming they would at least try to honor a room location.

I did this same thing. I booked my Land/Sea with AAA and requested a concierge room at the Poly (Lagoon View). My TA put in the request right away and within 2 days of paying my cruise deposit it was all taken care of. I must say the price was a bit high but we went with it at this point.

I am not sure why they cannot do it when you book the cruise and you have to have the wait time to get the concierge reserved. I do know that after staying in a Poly LV Concierge last year that we would not have done anything different.

Since our cruise is over a year out, I am still going to look at some other ways of pricing this out and possibly using even another agent because my agent does not seem to know much about Disney.

Good Luck!
Jen
