i'm having sticker shock at the price of transfers from airport to WDW to DCL and back to airport!!

any tricks?

cheaper to rent a car for 8 days, I saw on mousesavers that 8 day rentals can be cheaper than short term.

is this even realistic, place to park? would we pay for parking at the resort or DCL??

You do pay for parking at the port. $10 day, so that adds to the cost of the rental car. You have to remember the price of the DCL transfers includes them lugging your luggage for you. So if that helps. I did alot of checking into different prices and they all came to about the same. Couple dollars here and there. Try getting quotes from the different town car services.

If you are interested in a towncar, be sure to look around for coupons. I have a Happy Limo coupon on my website, and I know there are coupons around for the others on various sites...just do a Google search. If you go the rental car route, search the internet for various discount codes and plug them in when you get your quotes...you can also bid on a rental at Priceline once you establish a baseline price.

You can rent a car at the airport and drop it off near the port, paying for only a day's rental. You don't pay for parking that way. Then you can pick up another rental car after your cruise and return it at the airport, again... only paying for one day's rental. Depending on the number of people in your party, this may be the cheapest option. I personally prefer this option because I like having the flexibility to go wherever I want... and on my own schedule.
