Land Of The Lost - The DVC Members with Resort Reservations and No Tickets Crying Room....

Nail us is a gentle way of saying it to say the least. I’m so bitter right now. I get it’s a bad time right now but it was just not handled properly I feel. No idea why I would do 2021 vs 2020 first.

IMO, because I think they know capacity can be higher in 2021 and were not sure how this would play out. It appears that things are not booking up so it bodes well we could see 2020 tickets soon.

Someone has posted getting an AP through AAA just today.

So I can leave the crying room because our guests decided to cancel this morning due to the explosion of new COVID cases in Florida. They have a 10 and 8 year old.
We are now considering switching to a 1 bed villa for a longer stay and/or switching to July before things get worse or pushing to September to get more days for the points. My DH thinks we're nuts to travel to COVIDville.
Who knows?
For now - we have points, a reservation, park reservations, APs and a whole lot less anxiety.

yait’s hit or miss. In my area it’s a no go.

I have a site thru work I can buy a Florida gold ap but not a dvc one. Wonder if I show my membership card will I be able to use it?

This has been talked about before, the pass can only be used by FL residents even though it's just a gold pass. Disney would have to convert the pass to DVC, and if they are not selling passes or tickets this would not be possible.

FWIW, after seeing this advice on another thread I purchased an Annual Pass through AAA. Although it took me about a day to be able to successfully buy one, I was able to immediately apply it to my DS and make all our park reservations for 2020.

AAA is not selling any other WDW tickets, but if you're in the market for APs for those folks in your party without park tickets, it might be a good option.

went on aaa and this is true, you can buy APs and I have read multiple posts of people able to make 2020 park reservations. The only issue is they are full price

We have had our Thanksgiving week planned for 11 months and we had an April trip planned that got cancelled. We had tickets for that but based on a short trip so I need to add to those. In addition, my then 2 year old didn't get a ticket and she will be 3 when we go in November. Therefore, I was able to make park reservations but only for 3 of us! I called and there was nothing they could do. The CM said she didn't foresee an issue getting a ticket or pass for my 3 year old. Obviously I have to cancel if that is not the case. To add to the confusion I also purchased a Platinum Pass since we were going during a blackout time in April and wanted memory maker. Now those things are unnecessary so I really want to downgrade my pass to Gold. Not sure what will happen - there are a lot of variables but I got no specifics when I called this week.
Just tell them due to the issues we have been dealing with this year we have postponed all birthday celebrations so she is still 2 until further notice!!!

On the dvc res without tickets thread the moderator posted the word is July 11 for 2020 tickets.
I posted that and said it was a RUMOR. Don't remember the source and I'm sorry I posted it! Please don't count on rumors!!!

Brain teaser...imagine this...February 2021 trip scheduled for wife and I, which I could buy tickets for today. We also have a family trip planned for Thanksgiving week 2020 for us and 3 kids, which we can't buy tickets for yet. If I went ahead and bought tickets for Feb 2021 trip, and then bought Nov 2020 trip when available, what happens to Feb 2021 tix/money when I upgrade Nov tickets to Annual Passes?

People have posted elsewhere that CMs from CRO indicated that date too! So the rumor has legs!
I saw another rumor that is was the 12th.... We will know hopefully by early next week. I hope they give us a few days warning and if there are tiers they do a better job of explaining the tiers.

Maybe you can take both sets of tix and apply towards the AP cost?

I also have reservations for September (our Anniversary) do not have tickets so we'll wait ad see what happens. Also I figure if I don't get the dining reservation I had before we might just cancel. So sad.

When tickets for 2020 go on sale, it's very likely that you can get an annual pass at that time, also. At that time, I'd call Ticketing and ask if you can apply the February 2021 tickets to your AP purchase. They reportedly can't do upgrades, but I have read that ticketing can cancel an unused ticket purchased for a future visit, refund it and then make a new purchase for the AP. Good luck!

We usually buy military tickets. I'm wondering what our options will be there. Wondering if they will go on sale the same time normal tickets do.

That's what we do. I have reached out to Shades of Green and our local ITT and they don't know when they will be reselling. I don't think we will wait for them if regular tickets come available first. I did hear somebody filled out some prereservation form for Shades of Green and the resort would let them know as soon as tickets became available.

That is what I'm trying to decide...do I wait to try and get military tickets or just grab at whatever I can get at regular price?? For us, the price difference is about $1300. That is 3/4 of our food budget!!
