My hope is Disney has "reserved or blocked off" a certain percentage of park reservations for rooms booked with DVC points but no tickets, since guests in that situation will have at least a 4 day disadvantage in purchasing tickets and being able to make park reservations.

I should hope so. And truly, I’m thinking we should be okay for April, but who even knows? I just find it outrageous that DVC member aren’t being treated fairly.

I heard that 3 times today. From different cast members. I still don’t believe any of them till it actually happens. One cast member did say don’t worry about parks being full cause they r holding spaces for dvc members. Sounds like she might also drive a Disney cause it deff sounds like a random thought one of the bus drivers would drum up.
I’m bitter about all this. I’m really not a bitter person but I really fell like I’m getting my chain pulled. I should have just went fishing the past 2 days and didn’t think about all this. Oh wait that’s how I got into this bit not checking earlier about season passes.

It's possible (keeping some hope here), that if, since Disney already knows how many DVC families are already booked, they average out that each family has a certain number of people. You can extrapolate approximately how many DVC park tickets will be needed per-park\day. Mayhaps, they are saving some for us?

At the end of the day, this is hurting Disney...a lot...they WANT to sell tickets, but can't. I'm sure there are folks just chomping at the bit to open ticket sales back up.

In the end? DVC went home, and watched Netflix. They can not be contacted. If one is lucky enough to get thorough? You will be vilified. Somehow, all of this will become your fault.

This is not the DVC I signed up for. With overworked NASTY people.

So what WE are doing... Just our Family....

1) Planning on selling all Contracts, circa 2022. These hit "break even" a good year ago. $1.00 per point would put us even, vs basic rooms.
2) Renting out any DVC points that WDW will not allow us to bank. Currently, 147.
3) Advising new owners to just STAY AWAY - until there is a real DVC. With real contact mechanisms. DVC pretty much went away APR 2020. They have not
returned.

I sent 2 ranting emails today. I'm prob going to get blacklisted. I have never sent an email to Disney about anything. today I sent 2 cause as I went through my day and waited on hold for 3 plus hours here and there and got nowhere and know no more than I did this morning I got more and more fired up. did I do it to myself ya, but I just can't let this one go.


they picked to sell rooms over tickets because at the end tof the day they will make more cause like I said once parks are full they can't sell tickets or justify selling them. but rooms is a different story. sell sell sell until people start to realize parks are booked and now they are stuck.


I hope they get burned bad. I really do. my wife hopes they listen to the cast members petition and not even reopen. it's bad down there. I have family in 3 different regions down there and friends in a few others. they said it really isn't good.

I agree. If Disney actually had spots blocked off for DVC reservations, why wouldn't they just go ahead and let us book? They could still cap it, so what's to be gained by delaying us booking if they truly have spots saved for us? It makes no sense.

I've lost count of the incorrect things I've been told by CM's lately, so sadly I take everything they say with a great big grain of salt. In my book the idea that they have saved spots for us is a pipe dream. Fortunately the availability chart shows everything wide open after the first week - even Thanksgiving and Christmas weeks. I did not expect that. I'm trying to temper my expectations, but I'm beginning to be a bit more hopeful that there will actually be some spots left when we get to book. But not because Disney is holding anything back for us, just because the demand so far is much less than I anticipated.

They can not have spots blocked off for DVC. Hollywood Studios is already out of availability the first few days. They already have our money. They are putting hotel guest in DVC rooms. Breakage or whatever they want to call it. You can book a hotel room with tickets but not add them to a DVC room. They want us to cancel. They are having a hard time selling DVC right now. I have added on in the past. I would never do it again. I am already schedule for the dark side, but it still infuriates me

Did WDW already realize sales wouldn't even meet demand during capacity restrictions, so they went ahead with this ticket frenzy schedule as a sales tactic? Maybe they put cash rooms first for the same reason... the psychological effect that could push more cash bookings. If that's true then poor Mickey is desperate.

Think you are onto something with the ticket frenzy. Also, think they will have a handle on who is planning on keeping initial reservations and will start to sell tickets to those with confirmed reservations by the end of July. Just my spidey senses, no inside track lol

haha, I think your spidey senses are working! Surveys went out asking guest about their intentions with existing reservations and what circumstances would be involved in changing their decision. It's uncharted territory for them but they are the gold standard when it comes to optimizing data.

Reservations opening weekend at BLT. I have an AP, one DD has 3 days left (we were there in March when it closed), and DW has 1 day. Currently no way to extend DW, or by DS or other DD a ticket. Very close to pulling the plug on the whole trip. If we can't buy tickets then we are not going.

So yes, of course. But I've rented points (private), so that money's spent... (at 11 months, so committed in February before all of this started.) Tickets will continue to be good as long as we don't use them, so if we don't go I'll just hold on to them. Airfare is when I'll feel like I'll knowingly be taking a risk.

Thanks I guess I’m wondering how long the tickets will be good. We go every year but are limited to school days off. I looked at flights to MCO and they are $1000 each round trip. I may have to pass on our December trip. Good luck with your trip!

I have a reservation at Copper Creek 9/21 and received an email from Disney today about whether or not we plan to keep it, change it, ot cancel it. When I replied that I was going to keep it, it said I would be receiving another email regarding details, which I'm assuming if it's open or not

I want to believe there will be space but the APS haven't been opened. I understand this is a safe place.... soooo I can't stand one more post from someone with 9 trips planned worried about getting all of their park reservations while I have one trip with guests that don't have tickets in AUGUST and not sure there will be anything left. The reservations may be gone once it opens to the AP holders.

I’ve never had to do this. I go with my family usually every 3-4 years. But my understanding is that the tickets have an expiration date, but you can use them later if you pay the cost difference between what you paid and the new cost of the ticket you’re updating to. Maybe someone can correct me if I’m wrong...

Hoping everyone who has resort reservations through the end of the year can get park tickets & reservations soon. For us, the uncertainty of everything was just too much. I was mentally exhausted thinking about our options! I made myself cancel our long awaited November 2020 trip and rescheduled for April 2021. Had to get creative to get the BLT and AKV reservations we wanted without borrowing more points from 2021, but i made it work. I’m going to keep an eye on the park reservations but will probably not purchase tickets on 6/28. Will be stalking the reservation availability and only purchasing tickets when it starts to look dicey. Good luck everyone!
