Morning guys!! DH and I both have sore throats. Bummer.

I woke up to a thunderstorm this morning and to a dog who freaks out at the storms. So, there of course was a lovely poopy prize waiting for me. I have some drugs I could give her, but she's not the most worked up I've ever seen her, plus I'm hoping the worst of it's behind us now.

We tried out a different church yesterday. We thought it might be a better fit than the other two we've tried since living here. We'll go back next week.

Then we went to a birthday party next door for the 3 year old girl. It was fun. She got a ton of presents and seemed to like the Cinderella dress up stuff I got her and her new dress. "It's BRAND NEW!!" she said.

We didn't do anything around the house this weekend, so I need to work on it. I've already loaded the dishwasher and started a load of laundry. But I have to fold the whites that are in the dryer. YUK!!

I also need to see about putting together my new vacuum cleaner, still haven't vacuumed the house since I refused to use the old one on Friday. Oh well, it's just us, so a little dog hair never killed anyone.

Alright, losers. I'm off to take a shower.

DH has an appointment this afternoon. Keep your fingers crossed for us!

BTW - leave a forwarding address if we move, so I can find my way back again. Or.... don't if we don't want the repo guys to know where we moved to!

I might vaccuum twice a month.

I guess it helps that there's no carpet downstairs except an area rug.

Sweeping is much easier than vaccuuming. And it's much easier to clean hardwood after someone spills their juice.

I wish this house had less carpet. It's a rental so we won't do anything about it, but we have rose colored carpet that dates back from when the house was built over 20 years ago in all the rooms except the kitchen. That means carpet in the bathrooms :scared: The landings of the stairs by the front door and garage door are the only tiled areas of the house.

I think we'll buy when we moved again, depending on how long we think we'll be there. We had a house to sell in Iowa and DH was just starting back with this company when we moved here and we weren't sure how long we'd be here, of course, it's been over 2 years now.

Good Mornin' To all! Happy St Patricks Day!. I have dropped the boys off at preschool, gone shopping- still have more to do. Came home to put stuff up and instead of cleaning I came to check in here! But I invited the in-laws for dinner, so I should clean?

Rose colored carpet? Lol.... almost as bad as my mine. ;)

Cheer up. You'll be outa that rental soon enough.

Shore - do you have hardwod in your kitchen, too?

I'm looking to replace our flooring in a couple of months, looking at wood. But with our floorplan, whatever we put in the living room we have to put in the kitchen.

Just wondering. :)

I wish I had taken "Before" pictures when we started to remodel the house.

Every room in the house had the same brown colored panelling -- even the kitchen, and the bathroom. :confused3

In the living room, there was brown carpet to match the brown walls. :sad2:

The dining room had no light, no electricity, no windows. It actually was not panelled, but had three different wallpapers falling off the walls.

The kitchen had one cupboard, no cabinets, and less than 12 inches of counter space.

The first thing we did was turn the old dining room into our new kitchen. So I had two kitchens for awhile.

Then hubby tore out the downstairs bathroom. Took him two years and me telling him that I was no longer bathing our one year old child in the kitchen sink to actually get him to finish it. (The upstairs bathroom only had a shower stall.)

Then the hurricane came through, and we had to start all over. :headache:

We don't have hardwood in the kitchen. We have ... hmm, it's hard to explain. You know those pergo floors, the kind that has a tongue and groove thing, really easy to install? We have that kind of thing, except it doesn't look like hardwood, it looks like tile (you get the look, but not all that coldness on your bare feet).

We have an open floor plan, and at first, we thought we'd have to do the whole floor the same way. But then our neighbor who had a construction biz before he retired pointed out that we DIDN'T have to have it the same.

There's some kind of moulding that they have, you can put it where your hardwood ends, making the rooms seperate while still having that open floor plan. I wish I could explain this better...

Ok, I took a picture to show you what I'm talking about, but now I'm having some weird technical difficulties. The camera won't load the pics to the computer.

I've always hated this camera. All I really wanted was a cute little camera that would fit in my hand, but what does hubby do? He goes out and buys this monster of a contraption with so many buttons that I can't figure anything out!!

He says: It's an $800 camera!! Read the manual!!

I say: Your camera sucks!! I wanted the $200 one!!

-Mkrop- I wish I could share all my Boxtops with you, but I have to start saving for 2 kids for next year's contest. They have pizza parties for the class in each grade that wins the contest & #1DS's class won this year for the 3rd grade ,first time he's been in the class that won (might have been because of the winner mom in me wanting him to win & was saving since last year).

Take the dead fish out, leave the bowl empty, put a note next to the bowl...."FREEDOM!!! signed, The Fish"
That remind's me of something that happened to us about 5 yrs ago. We were just about to move from IN to NC and we had put all our fish in a big plastic container to take to MIL's house (giving her all the fish since she had 2 fish tanks & we didn't know when we would have our's set up again). Well we had gone out to eat and came back to the house and I walked into the kitchen and found that our red tailed shark (it's a fish, but named that) had jumped out of the container. Don't know if he jumped, planned on escaping or the other fish were tired of him picking on them that they all pushed him out :lmao:

Do you guys ever have those moments when you feel like your entire family is on a mission to drive you to insanity?
YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids kept fighting in the backseat of the car. Even an SUV is not big enough for the two of them.

So, what did I do? I just turned the music up to ear-drum-busting level so I wouldn't have to hear them anymore.
I've tried the turning up of the radio, but the twosome just get louder:headache:

I know I'm not catching up and it doesn't look like it is gonna happen. I am exhausted. My mom, sister and her partner (who all live next door) came over when the tornado watch started. I have a basement, they don't. So, we spent most of the afternoon watching the horrible and scary news coverage of the weather. Local channels had nothing but weather on all day. Tracking the storms, reporting on the damages (and a few injuries and deaths), updating the warnings, etc. Our sirens only went off once and we all spent about an hour in the basement listening to the radio. The boys had a great time playing with all the toys stored down there.

Anyway, I am physically and mentally spent. Keeping up with the storms and keeping everyone happy... I'm beat.

I'll be checking in from time to time tonight, so don't think I'm headed for bed or anything like that.

We had that storm come thru Sat. night. As soon as I looked out the window and saw the bolt of lightning going straight down acouple a blocks away (looked like it) I turned off the computer and announce that it was movie night
:headache: Big mistake cause then the kids argued for about 10 mins about what to watch. #2DS won the fight this time and we watched Cars for the 10 millionth time this week. #1DS wanted to watch the new Naruto's that come on Cartoon Network at 9pm so I told him he could go into my room and watch them on my bed. Of course wouldn't you know that #2DS fell asleep 5 minutes after Naruto started, so #1DS stayed in my room and DD got to watch her Princess movie.
Luckily the storm wasn't as bad by the time it got here as it was where you are.

You're too late. Look at the pictures a couple pages back! ;)

:scared1: I just saw them :scared1:

Ok, I think I finally got the stupid camera working. Let's hope this turns out right.

Don't do it for them ;) If you decide to clean, do it for yourself
Whatcha makin'?

Shore...that floor is awfully darned clean for a loser!!!!

Sooooooooooo....I got to experience the joy of projectile vomit on the leather seats of the car this morning. :headache: We're getting into my son's bad season. Ugh!!!

BTW....I was kinda thinking of the new title being "Lovers Of Small Effort Relaxation & Silliness"...AKA "The Losers"...grab a chair and sit a spell! But maybe I should title it "Losers only, winners need not apply, rules in first post!!!" like that other thread "39 and holding" or whatever. ;)

OK, this doesn't look like the kitchen of a loser
This looks very nice! :goodvibes
I agree! Very nice & VERY Clean.

Sorry about your son! yuck.

I like the name. Do I get a vote?:confused3

You will laugh. Manacotti (i iknow I can't spell it too lazy to look it up) I asked the boys on the way to school if they wanted that or rotissere chicken & they both picked it. And since it makes so much I figured I would ask my in laws over. My hubby worked a card show over the weekend & he can show off all of his autographs & tell all his sport star stories.
Were you spring cleaning today or was that someone else?

Also I just learned how to multi quote. Very cool. Off to make my boys lunch.

Ok, first of all, the dirt just doesn't show up on camera. ;)

Secondly, aw, your poor son. Is it allergies that make him sick like that?

And lastly, I vote for Losers Only, Winners Need Not Apply with a bunch of crazy rules in the first post. Why? Because we're making fun of Winners AND the crazy rule posting thread all at one time.

Ok, what happened? I post a picture of a clean (looking) floor, and all the Losers high tail it out of here?

I didn't mean to scare you all off like that.

Please come back. I promise I'll be a better Loser. :sad1:
