Land of Dreams VIP Tour

I’m happy to answer any direct questions here or in PM. I just don’t want to overshare publicly.
Just curious about the bags of merchandise. What types of things did you get? Were they items that you were looking at earlier or just totally random? And, it's fine if you prefer to answer via DM.

That’s something I wish was addressed prior to actually starting the tour.. I went into a store early on in the beginning of the day and said “I want everything here. Me and my kids love Baymax.. literally one of everything.” I was serious.. But then we were told “don’t worry, we will have room for shopping later.” and then I assumed “OK great - because I want to ring all of this up.”.

Then.. throughout the day, I’d notice occassionally one, two, or even all three concierges would take out their card and paper and pay for some of our items.. and I’d just intervene “don’t worry, I got it and my kids all have Apple Pay so they can do it.. they know their spending limits and how to ask”

It wasn’t until the very end when I realized… ****, there was some arbitrary spending limit that I was unaware of… this kind of was a sour patch moment… I was impressed that it was all included, but also upset that the few things we actually wanted from Baymax store we were unable to get because they closed on us.

They totally should address it. Like what’s the limit? I’d be buying the LE dolls and pins.

Very cool that you got private vehicles on some of the attractions!

I took my two kids on the regular VIP a while back and talking with the CM was definitely a highlight. It's one thing to be able to experience the attractions without a wait, but getting the "behind the scenes" that you wouldn't otherwise be able to get is on a whole other level. So talking with the guy who was in charge of the horses sounds awesome.

Did you find you were more tired than usual after doing this? I was exhausted after our VIP; I think it was because I never realized how stopping and waiting in line every now and then really gives you a bit of a rest from go-go-go between attractions.

The CM in charge of the horses, that day anyway, was a woman. She definitely loved the horses, and they loved her.

The tour was 12 hours, and I have only done the 7 hour tour before, so yes we were exhausted. Enough so that we didn’t take advantage of the last 30 minutes we could have had. It was probably closer to 45. We slept pretty well though, so the next day we were actually pretty refreshed.

Oh and yes, the tour guides were awesome, definitely the highlight. One of them was a tour guide we had before that we like.

At least for us, it seemed focused on clothing. However I did not ask what else we could get. To be honest, it was at night, we were already tired, and I didn’t care enough at the time. If I was thinking coherently, I would have asked if we could get plushes.

Last month they had a horse out for people to pet and pose with, along with a trainer to talk to. It wasn't for a tour group, you just needed to get in line. It was between the fire station and the Emporium. We go very very often and I had never seen that before.

According to the first post, it is $14,000 for up to 6 people.
Yeah I wasn't sure if that is what they meant, or if they were pointing out that only 6 people are in the tour at a time. I assumed it was $14,000 for six but you know what they say about assuming ;-)

@Steven G Would you do it again? Do you feel it is worth the extra over the other VIP tour?

For you, how much of the tour was to optimize the use of your time as opposed to seeing, doing and learning things that you wouldn't have been able to do if you were not on the tour?

I would not do it again, at least not for a few years, just for the cost.

To be honest, the extra stuff was a big draw for me. It was nice to have lunch and dinner during the tour, as well as seeing the extra stuff. The 7 hour tour is always such a rush around.

We’ve been on almost everything at Disneyland multiple times over the years, so the rides themselves weren't the draw. To be honest, it was kind of fun going to an attraction and trying to figure out beforehand how the guides would get you on the ride ( most of the time it turned out that it was through the exit).
