Land of Dreams VIP Tour

I don’t even think I would like the special enter-through-the-exit access that they’re advertising. I did that once on Tower of Terror… We asked for a rider swap minutes before the park closed and the cast member very kindly allowed me to enter through the exit with our smaller kids and wait for DH to come out. Then I went up with my daughter on a little side elevator, just us and the cast member. You exit that elevator right at the ride loading area and get on the ToT “elevator”. It was so nice of the CM to allow us to get the rider swap and I appreciated the special treatment. But you miss 100% of the queue, with all the details and Easter eggs. We didn’t get to see the pre show. It made the ride less fun to be honest, because instead of an immersive story we felt like we were at some amusement park anywhere, riding a typical ride. I would imagine some of the newer rides like FoP, Tron, Guardians, the ones with the longer lines that you would save the most time getting the enter-through-the-exit access, would be the ones that also leave you wishing you could see the pre show and experience a minute or two in the queue. For $14,000 I wouldn’t want to miss out on the rides’ pre shows or interactive queues. They are a big part of what makes Disney so special.

When we were at WDW in 2017 the day before Hurricane Irma hit, Magic Kingdom was empty and nearly every single ride was a straight walk on. That was the best experience I’ve ever had. The fear of the hurricane aside, it was so fun to go on any ride we wanted and not wait at all. I remember my 2 and 4 year old kids playing in the queue for Peter Pan and a couple came along behind us. We just waved them past so that my kids could have a minute or two playing in the queue. We saw Anastasia and Drizella riding the carousel and cat calling at people while in character. It was wild. That’s the $14,000 experience imo- experiencing everything normally but without crowds or wait times.

So it looks like no one has yet taken this tour or is willing to speak up. 😀 oh well.

As for the person saying they would not want to go through the exit and miss the queue... going through the exit is just one option. Also, I am sure if you wanted to experience the queue without having to wait, they would find a way. For 14,000, I would sure hope so

As far as why people go on vip tours, the last thing I would want to happen on a tour is to be noticed, and I've been on a few.

I was watching Bob Gurr's recent video on Instagram and noticed that he had more than one guide. It looks like he almost got ROTR to himself. I'm sure he is a Club 33 member so maybe it was one of his annual tours.

I was able to do the Land of Dreams tour last week and it was incredible… I don’t know why the details have to be so discreet, but it is obvious that the experience is extravagant for any true Disney fan. I do not think the current price is going to last (it will be increased in the future).

Ohh, I'm intrigued. Can you share more about your experience?

I actually did this tour in March. It was 3 of us.
There were actually 3 "guides", however only two of them were with us most of the time. The third person was coordinating our day as needed backstage. There was also the Land of Dreams concierge that greeted us at the beginning, but I don't think he was involved with us during the day.

It was a total of 12 hours, but we ended up only using about 11.5 hours, since one of the people in our tour arrived late, and we were all pretty exhausted after fireworks.

The Land of Dreams tour is as advertised. You skip as much of the line as is possible in all cases, and in some cases (but not all) you can stay on the ride and ride it twice, we only took advantage of that twice, I believe.

In some cases as well, you are the only ones on the ride when it made sense. For example, on Guardians Mission Breakout, we rode it twice in a row, and both times we were the only ones on the ride. Or on Millenium Falcon, our group was the only ones in the ride ship.
Radiator Springs Racers as well, we were the only ones in the car, Rise of the Resistance we were the only ones in our experience once we were tractored beamed on to the star destroyer, etc.

to be clear on this, we never waited in the lightning lane queue to the best of my memory. we typically went through the exit on most attractions or took a CM entrance.

As far as extras:
We had lunch inside the Dream Suite (food was brought to us from Tiana's Palace and we ate in the entry lounge).
We then had a full tour of the Dream Suite.
We also visited the horses that drive the carriages and meet with one of the caretakers of the horses and were told about the horses and how they were taken care of. We then were able to ask questions of the caretaker, and get our picture with the horse.
We had dinner in LampLight Lounge in the private room.
As far as food, none of us were big eaters or drinkers, but we were allowed to order pretty much anything, including alcohol.

We did both the parade and fireworks (there was no fantasmic at the time of course) with our guides, and afterwards, one of the guides got two of us on the monorail back to Disneyland hotel, and the third person our tour got escorted back to the GCH.

Was it worth the expense? I do think the normal VIP tour should be like this honestly, however to handle our group getting the access required a lot of coordination. I think it's "easier" on the ride CM's if VIP tours go through lightning lane rather than skip the line entirely. I realize I didn't answer the question, because part of me thinks it is not worth it, and part of me does.

We also got a couple take home gifts that were special for the tour.

It sounds amazing. I definitely wouldn't be able to do it for my family, but I can pay my 1/6th and go with another group. 🤣

2 adults 4 kids - 3 dedicated concierges (left all 3 an equal hefty tip at the end - well deserved). - 12 hours total.

Disney is not very clear with what is included; and it seems like it may be different for each party (depending on certain variables). However, I can tell you that I was not expecting the end result.. At the end of the night, the 3 concierges were waiting by the valet with tons of bags… gifts to us… I was waiting for the “Okay you owe…” but nope.. all included.

I’m happy to answer any direct questions here or in PM. I just don’t want to overshare publicly.

Well, I might consider it if my three guides were Captain America, Dr. Strange and Loki!
Otherwise, sorry Disney…my money this year is going to hockey! Let’s go Avs and Rangers! Four Nations, here we come!

we had the option to pick some stuff from the main street stores, but we ended up not taking advantage of it at all. I believe we were offered choosing from the clothing section. We didn't get "tons of bags" for sure. I have no idea what the limits of that were.

That’s something I wish was addressed prior to actually starting the tour.. I went into a store early on in the beginning of the day and said “I want everything here. Me and my kids love Baymax.. literally one of everything.” I was serious.. But then we were told “don’t worry, we will have room for shopping later.” and then I assumed “OK great - because I want to ring all of this up.”.

Then.. throughout the day, I’d notice occassionally one, two, or even all three concierges would take out their card and paper and pay for some of our items.. and I’d just intervene “don’t worry, I got it and my kids all have Apple Pay so they can do it.. they know their spending limits and how to ask”

It wasn’t until the very end when I realized… ****, there was some arbitrary spending limit that I was unaware of… this kind of was a sour patch moment… I was impressed that it was all included, but also upset that the few things we actually wanted from Baymax store we were unable to get because they closed on us.

I don't like shopping in general, and my son didn't really seem to want anything clothing wise, and the third person really was along for the ride, so she was kind of hesitant to shop. I think they asked us a couple times during the day if we wanted to go into a store, and each time we said no, so near the end they basically just said that they were willing to buy some items for us, and we didn't take advantage of it.

As you say, there were no limits or anything as to what was or not allowed, and at that point, I didn't want anything. It would be nice for them to more explicitly lay out what were the boundaries, I agree. I certainly did not come into the VIP tour expecting to shop, because on the normal VIP tour there is usually no time to do so. If I had time to think about it, I could have probably come up with some ideas. shopping time was definitely not mentioned in any of the conversations before the start of the tour for sure.

I think the intention was to have this be a surprise feature. I am not a huge fan of surprises 😀
