Lamest Attractions

It is very interesting to read everyone's opinion of what is lame and what isn't. Everyone has different opinions about each ride - and that's fine - I think that was the point of this thread - to see how different people feel about different rides!! Keep 'em coming .... no hard feelings....

IMHO as a 25 year old married woman with no kids, I think the following rides are lame:
Its a Small World
Tiki Tiki Room
Jungle Cruise
Country Bear Jamboree
Hall of Presidents
Swiss Family Tree House

I do however still do these rides every time - now figure that one out!!

But I'm sure that also has to do with perspective - and could very well change when I have kids and take them to disney (They are gonna go - whether they like it or not!!! )

My poor kids - they are gonna be tired of Disney before they ever really get a chance to know it...

The Indy Speedway, however, is another matter. There are rides like this at every amusement park in America. Why not give it a Herbie theme? That would make it more relevant, imho.

Another vote for the Herbie theme! :sunny: :cool2:

I haven't heard any reasons for why Stitch is a bad or lame ride other than the fact that it is 'lame'. This bugs me. What, exactly, makes it a bad ride? It's the exact same thing as Alien Encounter, sans the non-Disney-friendly back story. Besides, it's Stitch. The ride stayed completely true to his character. I go on that ride every time I go MK and I hope they never renovate it. :sunny:

I think its the noises that made the difference for me. Instead of the monster sound you have the stitch noises in the background. It just seemed more intense before they changed it. I really enjoyed Alien Encounter.

I think it's just the simple fact that Alien was so much scarier. Everyone loved it and now it's gone. We miss that part of our past. I loved 20000 Leagues Under The Sea and every time I go to MK, I feel sad about it. Stitch IS lame compared to Alien :scared:

Not only that but the burping hotdog smell is not funny or entertaining AT ALL.

Stitch is up there...I just don't get that attraction. The two that bother me are the two carnival rides in the back of Animal Kingdom. Don't get me wrong, PW is fun but they do not fit with the theming...JMHO!

For me the most pointless attraction in all of the world is Journey into Imagination. I just don't get it! :confused3

I really do not like the muppets at MGM that show is annoying just me though

Why don't they do a real muppet show like was on TV, I hate that little annoying guy who flys around on screen.

Bad Show

JMHO

I think determining "lameness" is questionable... I mean, everyone has their own criteria, obviously. I think it's important to be "real" about the attractions. If you're taking an adult "first-timer," you prob. want to take them on Jungle Cruise before the Kilamanjaro Safari... and make sure they know Carousel of Progress will be a time to rest and enjoy "traditional" Disney, or that Small World is cheesy but has to be seen. Not everything is "exciting", but sometimes the slower, older rides/shows can be enjoyable from a historical point of view, to appreciate Disney Imagineering as if you were in the period of time in which that specific ride was designed. I think, sometimes, a lot of Disney (esp. MK) is more of a place for those with an "old soul" but can see things through a child's eyes.
...however, I must say I LOVED the old Tiki Room (Zazu and Iago, while cute, make things much more commerical and less eerie, as the original felt), very much miss 20,000 Leagues, and the original Alien Encounter kicked some serious butt compared to it's new, more juvenile counterpart.
Oh well - 42 days & 2 hours to go!!!!!! :woohoo:

I could not agree more. That smell is vile! I felt like that smell inhabited my nostrils for the rest of the day. Oh Stitch you are such a pistol...

We love the corny/lame rides...they are the most nostalgic for us. We love Figment (older version was better) , jungle cruise, tiki birds. Its the old school stuff from our childhood.
We enjoy the mix of new and old. We love WED (peoplemover to us ;) ).

I do think the Drew Carey sound show is bad though. bad.

I love love love love love JC and personally, I don't think it's very outdated.. the effects like the elephants still amaze me!!!

HOWEVER.. I don't get the SFR treehouse. You walk and walk and walk up steps... to see old dusty furniture. I mean.. I get it but if we're talking outdated... this is awful. the only thing i'ts good for is great photo opps by fla foliage.
