Lamest Attractions

I know that I am totally going to be in the minority here, but I just have to say it.

My vote for the lamest attraction in WDW is Test Track. My drive in rush hour traffic is more intense than Test Track.

Along with, after riding Test Track my Hubby and I turned to each other and said, "Gee, do you want to a GM car because I want to buy a GM car." Over the top advertising + a totally not intense ride= LAME in my book.

I agree - although it does have its fun moments, the Test Track is too commercial oriented. I don’t mind all the commercial tie-ins at Disney-MGM because it still fits the theme of the world - I felt like going into Test Track I was going to have to initial a quote agreeing I would take the ride if they could keep my payments under $400 a month with a 4.5% APR. I really don’t care for corporate sponsorship of attractions but they should try to keep it with the theme of the park (riding fast in a car totally out of your control does not conjure up visions of the future, it does remind me of being 16 with a new drivers license)

And how about ITS A GREAT BIG BEAUTIFUL TOMORROW ---- yawn, They should pass out Ambien at the entrance to that show.

I don’t mean to bash all of Walt's favorite attractions (in fact Mainstreet USA is my favorite place to visit in any Disney park; not exciting, but very a lot of fun) but sure seems like some of his visions maybe need to be revisited. He was revolutionary in his day, maybe its that tradition that should be kept.

Our family loves Jungle Cruise- it's so punny! :rotfl2:

Personally, I can't really get rid of any of the rides or shows- all the different things is what makes Disney so fun to me. One persons boring ride is anothers favorite! :)

Oh,I have to agree about Test Track.I went to WDW 4 times..But I only had the chance to try it in the last time, and I was expecting soo much mooree..I was really desappointed! But maybe it could be improved, you know..
And oh,yes, the "nap nap nap room" has to go!!I never felt so sleepy, even during my classes..=P
But i thinsk Jungle Cruise has to stay!Since the first time I went to MK,this is the first ride we go...It's something I have with my parents,I don't know..But oh,that attraction is OK,and it can be really fun if you get an animated driver..
(Sorry If I had some problems with the english..I'm not american and not very fluent..^^ )

....Indy Speedway...What a waste of space!...

Sorry SpacemanSpiff, I have to dissagree. If you saw the look on my DS5 face when he saw the Indy Speedway, wow, priceless. He is a forever Disney fan because of that ride. :thumbsup2

I must've had a bad guide when we went on the jungle cruise cause I thought it was terrible even when I was a kid. The guide wasn't even pointing the gun in the right direction when he would shoot. If I want to remember all the magical times I go on POTC :thumbsup2 .

The Stitch ride has my number one vote though. Very lame. I'll ride that JC 10000 times before I get on Stitch again.

I have to agree with Belle1111 ...." Personally, I can't really get rid of any of the rides or shows- all the different things is what makes Disney so fun to me. One persons boring ride is anothers favorite! "

After going to Disney every couple of years since 1974, there some that I used to love as a kid, that I now just don't do. And there are some that I was terrified of as a kid (the cave's on Tom Sawyer's island), that are now 'ho hum'.
- I used to dislike the 'Presidents', still find it ho hum but appreciate it's history much more now.
- Loved Alien Encounter, haven't seen Stitch yet.
- Like Sounds Dangerous, it's different, and a great place to rest your feet.
- Like Snow White, but the witch is still scary for little ones!
- Loved Mr. Toad...but now it's gone.
- Don't find any use for Dumbo, Astro Orbitors or Magic Carpets, but love to see the little kids on them enjoying themselves.
-Tikki Room, is cute, a good place to rest and cool off and makes you sing that song all day!
-Always have and always will like Jungle Cruise, the CM makes all the difference in this ride!

I remember going my back to WDW after I was 'grown up'..19 or 20. Some of the magic had seemed to diminish ...seem lame....however, now that I have children, it's all come back just in a different way. And I have to say my children are now 18, 16 and 12 and still love a vacation at WDW

Everyone has different likes and dislikes and the great thing about Disney is that there are so many different kinds of things to do and see. :cheer2:

Jungle cruise riverboat is no good. Put some REAL animals in and that would make it interesting. :woohoo:

They could put an updated Jungle Cruise in Animal Kingdom and use the Magic Kingdom JC space for something new!

I vote to remove Stitch's Great Escape- I wanted to escape from that. Also MK could go on without Astro Orbiter- almost made me sick, lol.

I haven't heard any reasons for why Stitch is a bad or lame ride other than the fact that it is 'lame'. This bugs me. What, exactly, makes it a bad ride? It's the exact same thing as Alien Encounter, sans the non-Disney-friendly back story. Besides, it's Stitch. The ride stayed completely true to his character. I go on that ride every time I go MK and I hope they never renovate it. :sunny:

El Rio Del Tiempo is a wonderful ride too, if not a little dated.

You want a lame ride? It's a Small World. Honey, I Shrunk the Audience. Hall of Presidents. Country Bear Jamboree. Insanely dry or outdated rides that just need to bite it.

Ellen's Energy Adventure!!! Went to the old version w/ my brother & his family & half way thru my DN who was 4 had to go, NOW!!! Well this ride is a 45 minute snore with no way out. Had to put one of her little brother's diapers on her. She was morified but we couldn't think of anything else. So, ok, they changed the ride. "It's soo much better now" NOT!!! Can't believe how bad this is!!

And my 2 cents on IS - it's a great attraction but, like every ride of this nature everywhere, should be restricted to those under 16 (and a parent if nec) and too young to drive. The lines for this, and it's cousins, are always enormous and I am constantly amazed by the # of licensed drivers anxiously waiting their turn to "drive". Let's give the little kids a break and let THEM have their fun.

Stitch's Lame Escape! Quite possibly the 2nd worst redesign of an attraction in WDW history (after the first redesign of Imagination...)

I can not believe it took 14 post's before this ride was mentioned. It is the worst ever "ride" we have done in Disney.

I confess I like the fact that Disney has kept a few of the classic rides in a time capsule. Rio del Tiempo should never change, if only to keep that weird footage of the 70's era tourists settling down for drinks at the wet-bar. Classic. I'll be forever bummed out that they got rid of 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. Sure, there wasn't really much to see out the portholes, but for a little kid, climbing into a pretty cool replica of Captain Nemo's submarine, with all the imposing metal rivets, etc., was pure magic.

I'm not much for stomach churners, so from a personal standpoint, anything to do with teacups is "lame", but I understand the attraction for people who like that sort of thing.

I hate to be wishy washy, but I don't really think there are any truly "lame" rides. I may not personally care for some of them (for the life of me, I can't sit through the Hall of Presidents without yawning and wishing Monica Lewinsky would make an appearance when the light shines on Bill to liven things up) , but I can see how each of them appeals to a particular niche.

Ok, I'll be the bad guy...er girl... Hall of Presidents. I understand that it's a classic and patriotic but it's a snoozfest and a half...lame lame lame and not so magical to be placed in the Magic Kingdom. My parents refused to take us to it even in the '70's. I think the American Adventure is much better for that kind of show.

Ellen's energy adventure! The ride it's self is not lame, but the forever long pre-show and the end kills it for me! Wish they would come up with something new for this area?
