Thanks GB! We really had a great family trip! A little on the cold side but still a lot of fun and great memories.

Looking forward to hearing how you liked POFQ. We stayed there in October and loved it.

I guess coming in through the back door is better than no door at all! Glad you made it without getting lost!

The girls and I loved it! Dennis not so much. He really liked the big food court at the values. But he did like the beauty of the resort and the location.

This was our very first visit to Port Orleans French Quarter and our very first stay in a moderate. The drive up to the front was so pretty and since we were new we had to pay real close attention to the signs. After parking we all walked in the Lobby. For the the first stop was the ladies room. I was paying for not getting our with everyone else at the CVS. The restroom was totally different from what I had experienced at the Values. It was small quaint. I didn't take the camera with me or I would post pictures. I loved the "water closet" with the hanging pull chain. It was perfect for the decor. The girls made a beeline for the Jackson Square Gift shop. After the restroom, Dennis and I got in the check in line. It was a little after 11 and the lobby was very busy. Lot of people checking the bags and lot of people checking in. I had done the online check so I got in that line. Although there were lots of people in the regular check in line, we were the only ones in this line. Great I thought this won't take long. But no one was working that line. We waited while we watched the other move. Finally I spoke up and asked someone behind the desk if they could get someone for online check in. Although this person had seen us waiting they never offered to help, but once I said something she said no problem she could help us. After looking us up she pulled out our package that was all ready with our information and cards. The whole process only took 2 minutes. She pulled out a map, pointed out our building and we were off.

I have to say the lobby is just beautiful and I would love to have spent more time just looking around, but we really wanted to get to our room and unload. We were put in building 4, the set of buildings to the left of the lobby. It was so close to everything. Our room was on the second floor and faced the parking lot. This really great for catching the bus. We moved our car to the parking lot for building 4. We unloaded as much as the 4 of us could carry and went in search of our room. We took the elevator up to the second flood and it didn't take long to find the room. It was not too far from the elevator. After unloading our car this would be the last time we used the elevator until we were ready to load the car back up. I was just so easy to take the stairs from then on out.

A few pictures of our room

After we had unpacked we decorated our room. Remember is was Mardi Gras.

Whenever we went to load up the fridge, we noticed it wasn't working. The freezer area was frozen over with huge block of ice. I made a quick call to maintenance and also to housekeeping for more pillows. Dennis and I both have to have more than one pillow to sleep. Everyone was super nice.

From here the plan was to have lunch in the food court then take the boat to DTD. We would shop then meet up with Jada and Lauren for an early dinner at TREX. Jada and Lauren would head back to their resort and we would go to the Magic Kingdom for a brief taste of the Magic. So off we headed for lunch.

This is our view from our room.

This is the only picture I took in Sassagoula Floatworks. Brent marched in this parade his freshman year.

For lunch Dennis had the Philly sandwich, Danielle had a hot dog, Michelle had a grilled chicken ceasar salad and I had a muff. No one batted an eye when I asked for marinara sauce to go with it. The first time I had a muff was when I worked at Johnny's Pizza my high school job. We made them with homemade olive mix and a little pizza sauce. It was heated in the oven until the cheese was nice and melted. Since this was how I was introduced to a muff I can't eat it any other way. Yum my mouth is watering just thinking about it. Michelle and I shared our food, we had been planning on having a muff since we first read the menu months before. I have introduced her to joys of having pizza sauce on her muff too.

After filling our bellies we went back to the room to get ready for our trip to DTD. On the way to finding the boat dock we checked out some of the resort.

This is leading into the lobby from the pool area.

Going into the food court area from the pool area.

Continued in next post.

Walking towards the pool area.

Doubloon Lagoon

We really enjoyed our walk to find the boat dock. It was cold but a truly beautiful day.

Up next Our First Boat Ride.

Ok, I have to ask...what is a muff? I've never heard of that before. At first I thought it was short for a muffin?
I so want to stay there someday. Your view of the parking lot isn't bad at all with the little courtyard in front of your room.

A muff is a muffaletta, which is a sandwich with an olive mix. It's my favorite kind of sandwich, in fact. So good. Great, now I'm hungry.

I loved you other trip report and now I am on this one. I wouldn't want to travel with your sister from the June trip. The handicapped pass is great. We did that in DL with Mom in 2008 and will do it again in July when we go. I am loving the pictures of POFQ. We stayed there in 2005 and will again in JUly. Your girls are beautiful!!

I LOVED our stay at POFQ! I love the decour, small size of the resort and the boat to dtd....after seeing your pics I want to go back....

Wow, the Resort looks so neat! It really reminds me of the movie "Princess and the Frog" now that I've seen it!

I kept reading than even if you had a view of the parking lot it was usually blocked by plants. Overall I really liked our loction. We were very close to the lobby and the buses. The couryard was nice too. It was a smoking area but I very rarely saw someone using it and we crossed it often going back and forth to the buses.

Thanks Michelle!:thumbsup2 I found a picture that might help too.

I'm hungry too now. Are you going to try it with some red sauce now?

Thanks for reading both reports! I won't be traveling back with Tena again any time soon. She came to visit this weekend and although I was glad to see her she exhausted me. Dennis has no patience for dealing with her.

POFQ was so beautiful, you're lucky you going back so soon. And thanks for the compliment on my girls. I think they're beautiful too!
