Good bra a must. Once you "hike the girls up" you will be amazed at how much better your clothes fit. Same with undies. Get a good fit.
Target is amazing for jewelry. Very modern. Very hip. Very sensibly priced. Don't forget the power of a perfect pair of earrings or a nice necklace with a solid color shirt.
Chico's. Try to find a store first. Very pricey. Don't let that scare you off. There is a Chico's online and many, many Chico's things on E-Bay, BUT you should try things on first.
I am a 16/18 on top and the Chico's size 3 are perfect (just to give you ballpark sizing). Most everything has a bit of stretch which means SUCH comfort with a fashionable look.
The "Traveler's" by Chico's can be very dressy. They wash in the machine and air dry.
Their cotton tops wear like iron and go in the washer and drier. I just bought their long sleeved t-shirts, on clearance, for $11.00 each. They have these online.
Land's End products are fantastic. Be aware though that their women's clothing is tailored to fit the typical women: smaller on top, smaller waist, and bigger hips. Once I get something to button at the waist, the hips are about 3 sizes too big. (I am broad on top, no waist, and thin through the hips and butt.)
I have bought clothes at Target and Old Navy. Very hip. They make it through one, maybe two seasons.
Hanna Anderson. Online for adult clothing. Their wooden clogs are unbelievably comfortable. Their women's short sleeve cotton shirts are the best. Pricey, BUT you can wash and wear them every week for YEARS and they will look fantastic.
