Ladies-Where Do you Clothes Shop?

Good bra a must. Once you "hike the girls up" you will be amazed at how much better your clothes fit. Same with undies. Get a good fit.

Target is amazing for jewelry. Very modern. Very hip. Very sensibly priced. Don't forget the power of a perfect pair of earrings or a nice necklace with a solid color shirt.

Chico's. Try to find a store first. Very pricey. Don't let that scare you off. There is a Chico's online and many, many Chico's things on E-Bay, BUT you should try things on first.

I am a 16/18 on top and the Chico's size 3 are perfect (just to give you ballpark sizing). Most everything has a bit of stretch which means SUCH comfort with a fashionable look.

The "Traveler's" by Chico's can be very dressy. They wash in the machine and air dry.

Their cotton tops wear like iron and go in the washer and drier. I just bought their long sleeved t-shirts, on clearance, for $11.00 each. They have these online.

Land's End products are fantastic. Be aware though that their women's clothing is tailored to fit the typical women: smaller on top, smaller waist, and bigger hips. Once I get something to button at the waist, the hips are about 3 sizes too big. (I am broad on top, no waist, and thin through the hips and butt.)

I have bought clothes at Target and Old Navy. Very hip. They make it through one, maybe two seasons.

Hanna Anderson. Online for adult clothing. Their wooden clogs are unbelievably comfortable. Their women's short sleeve cotton shirts are the best. Pricey, BUT you can wash and wear them every week for YEARS and they will look fantastic.

I love Christopher and Banks! They have tops and pants to coordinate in color, which helps someone like me who has trouble selecting tops and bottoms from different sections of a large store like Macys. I have always found the saleswomen there very helpful. They frequently have sales.. buy one get one 1/2 price or 40% off of everything in the store. I have ordered online from them and have found some great coupons using retailmenot.com. Just this past weekend, when the store was having 40% off of everything, I was able to find a $20 off an $80 purchase, with free shipping, so I stocked up on several sleeveless t-shirts. If you are a new customer and sign up for email you will receive a $10 off coupon.

I agree with the pp suggestion about a good bra fitting (and a good bra!). Not a girl at Victoria Secret - I mean a true fitting like at Nordstrom. You don't need to buy a bunch of bras there; I typically buy 1 or 2 that fit me well and then pick up more of the same brand/style when I find them at SteinMart, Nordstrom Rack, and other higher end discount stores.

A high quality well fit bra will make SUCH a huge difference.

Ann Taylor Loft - They have great prices, and styles a little younger than Ann Taylor. Congratulations on your weight loss!!!

I agree!! Great styles with cute, but not too dressy. They wear well too and don't shrink funny like some of the cheaper clothes.

Congratulations on the weight loss! :)
I'd say Express! It's easy to find a really good deal; if you like their clothes I recommend signing up for their e-mail list because they e-mail you about huge Clearance sales, free shipping deals, discounts, etc. And I just think their clothes are stunning. And it's great because they have everything from basics (workout gear, plain old jeans, t's, sweats) to more dressy attire (pretty blouses, cocktail dresses, work clothes, I could go on foreverrr)

For casual clothes definitely Old Navy. When I think of buying clothes to wear to spend the day in Disney, I think of Old Navy (probably because that's exactly where I went the weekend before my last Disney trip hehe)

Kohls and Old Navy!!! I was on my last Disney trip the same size 10/12 and all my clothes I wore on that trip were from Kohls. They have awesome sales ans a lot of people dont realize but keep your reciept and if they go cheaper within 14 days you take your reciept back and they credit the difference. They have a lot of nice good quality causal clothes that just look nicer than some. Old Navy to has good sales and a lot of there clothes are of good quality. Hope this helps!!:goodvibes

Ann Taylor loft.. good quality .

Target, but usually stuff only lasts one season and then I ditch.

Congratulations! I think it is very important for you to go to a number of stores and try on different pants and tops from different designers. I have found that Kohls and Macy's are my favorite but there are only certain brands that fit my body correctly. My waist is much smaller than my hips so I have trouble with gaping at my back. I now know what brands fit me so I can shop online and get tall pants which are hard to find in the stores.
Good Luck and take your time to find what you want.

I am a size 10/12 and am 36. I love shopping at the GAP (get their credit card because they have awesome deals..all.the.time)! I've also bought stuff from J. Crew, Banana Republic (they also have great sales and if you get the GAP card you can use most of their rewards coupons at BR and Old Navy). I don't really like to order clothes for myself online..as I need to try stuff on and look at all angles in the mirror before I hand over the credit card. KWIM? Occasionally I will find something at American Eagle. If you happen to live near an outlet, DKNY has some sexy things...but they are somewhat of a splurge.

I also like Macy's. I have found some incredible deals on Michael Kors clothing there. For example, last fall I found $99 jeans for $23/$26 pair. They are the most comfortable jeans and are cute too. I find tons of shirts that are normally $59-$69 in the $20s or lower. In fact, yesterday I found a really cute dressy tank for $13! If you find something that there is only one of, it is quite possibly a return and they are very often not marked with the correct price. Scan them and you may find that they will be a lower price (the shirt I bought yesterday was sale marked $33 when it was actually $13). But it does tend to go in waves. Some months, I find something every time I walk in (I live just a couple of miles from a Macy's so I'm there quite often). Then, it could be 3 or 4 months before I find something I like at a price I'm willing to pay.

BTW, congrats on the weight loss!

Thanks so much Ladies for the recommendations!! Now, I just have to come up with a budget so that I don't over spend since I love a lot of the Stores that were recommended.

I'd say that 80% of my wardrobe comes from Kohl's. You can't beat their sales with coupons! My jeans are Levi's and Old Navy "sweetheart" fit. I have some Old Navy tops, but not many. They are a little on the "thin" side for a 40+ year old woman! I have some Eddie Bauer, Lands End, and L.L. Bean mixed in there. If you shop the clearance racks at Sears, you can find some really nice Lands End clothing for VERY cheap!!!

I shop at Fashion Bug. I am on their mailing list so I always get coupons and I love shopping clearance and getting great deals too! I am plus sized and young. It's hard sometimes to find fashionable clothes for me. They also have a great selection for regular sizes.

I usually buy my work clothes at New York and Co. or Jones New York, casual clothes come from Target, Old Navy or Gap. Some times I can get away with Walmart- tanks and t-shirts mostly.

Congrats on the weight loss; I'm 27 and am hoping to lose a little more weight by summer time.

Another Loft lover here. Wearing an outfit from there now actually.

My favorite stores are Loft, Gap, Banana Republic, J. Crew and White House Black Market (for dressier clothes).

I buy most of my clothing from Kohl's. I'm a SAHM too. I also have the store charge card just for the extra % off they send me in the mail.

old navy !!!! I am 27 and a size 8/10 and I love old navy! I have had 2 kids and love after i have lost most of the wt that old navy stuff fits and its very cute and very affordable! congrats
