Ladies, what kind of hat do you wear at Disney?

This is a question for the ladies. I'm not a hat person, but I realize that I should probably wear one on our trip (which starts tomorrow!). Any ideas of a hat I could go out and find today that would help me stay cook and out of the direct sun?

Anything with a brim to shade your face and possible also the back of your neck. I wear a baseball cap from my work.

Wait, Buy a WDW hat...a fabulous Hat store is located within the MK park which sells solely hats! :thumbsup2

We have safari hats,DH and I love them they keep the sun off our heads and neck.

I always wear a baseball cap as it keeps the sun off my face, but there's a huge variety of hats at WDW.

I usually wear a visor but I'm thinking of getting a safari type hat this year. The top of my scalp gets burned with the visor.

I'm wearing a Red Sox ball cap on my trip (which starts tomorrow!) I am thinking about buying a wide brimmed straw type hat if I can find one at the mall tonight because I think it might be cooler. I am also bringing a bandanna to wipe sweat with.

The Tilley hat! Not only will it shade you from the sun, but when you're overheated you can fill it with water to get a good douse - it's fantastic, for Disney and beyond.

Did you have to post that!? Now I want one. They look fantastic.

Sorry, Quinn222, but I can understand the temptation. :-) I LOVE Tilley hats. Everyone in my family has one when we go to Disney. And you'd be amazed how many people ask us where to get them... last time I was in Disney, they sell knock off versions in several spots, but I didn't see the original anywhere - not even at the Canadian pavillon at Epcot!! The hats were created by a Canadian. Honestly, they are the best hat I've ever worn - they have straps that go under the chin and on the back of your head so if it's really windy, they don't blow off ( and for you boaters out there, if it blows off your head - ie., you didn't use your straps - it floats in water!!) Buy one. You won't be sorry!

I'm bringing a pink POTC baseball cap I got really cheap in a Disney store, and also a really awful looking hat that looks kind of like a baseball cap but has a very long brim in the front and a bow in the back.:scared1: :lmao: I don't care what it looks like as long as my face doesn't get burned.

I used to wear visors until I got a bad burn on the part in the hair. Ouch! :sad1:

It's hard for me to pick a hat that fits and looks good because I must have a big head or something. :lmao: I'm liking that Tilley hat. Too late for this trip, but maybe for the next one.

My husband always wears a hat with a brim. I bought him a very nice one at the Walking Store, but I'm not sure if it's a Tilley. It was expensive. He has had some skin cancers on his face and it is very important for the hat to have a brim. I, too, am thinking of wearing a hat on this trip. A baseball cap is some help, but doesn't protect your ears or your neck.

no hat/cap for me - instead, a visor

keeps sun out of your eyes, the top is "open" and it's easy to adjust with the velcro strap - put my hair in a ponytail out the top and i'm good to go!

I usually wear my DVC member hat. It always gets a "welcome home" from the DVC rep in the booth.
