What kind of foundation do you all use? (If you use it that is). I am looking to try something different.

I used to exclusively use Prescriptives, but for the last year I switched to Lancome foundation, because it offered more moisture and a better color choice for my skin.

For everything else, I'm still using Prescriptives.

I don't use foundation -- always makes me feel like I'm wearing a mask. I use Cover Girl pressed powder and it gives me pretty even coverage. They have a new thing out that's kind of powder and foundation in one -- applies with a sponge. I bought it out of desperation (didn't have my regular stuff) and it wasn't bad -- not too masklike. I got my regular stuff a couple days later though.

I use professional makeup that I buy from a makeup artist I've known for years, he carries his own line plus some other good stuff(reasonably priced, too!). Recently I got some mineral foundation & blush that I love. It's not Bare Esentuals(sp?), but is something similar. I just needed something light and was getting tired of my liquid foundation (since I am getting to be of a "certain vintage" ;) and all...)

agnes!

I used origins for years and switched when a friend started selling Arbonne. I will go right back to Origins as soon as I can make it to the mall. It looks good, but not matty and you don't feel like you have any on. The Arbonne makes me feel like an old lady trying to cover something up. I do have stuff to cover up...but I don't want my face to feel that way. (I LOVE most of the Arbonne products...a little obsessed with them...just not the make up)

Depends on the coverage youre looking for.

I personally *LOVE* Revlon's Color Stay - when I want a heavier coverage.... I use it right out the bottle. When I want a lighter coverage, I mix with facial moisterizer.

And also, let me add - it does STAY. I wore it all those weekends in the Florida heat at Disney World, and it stays on. Its good stuff. :thumbsup2

Oh, and dont get the L'oreal comparable one - with the red top. I was so ticked I even tried it. Complete garbage. pirate:

Merle Norman or Clinique. I was exclusively Clinique for years, but my grandmother gave me a makeover and gift cards to MN, so I switched over. In Clinique, I used "Almost Makeup" but they never really had one light enough for my skin (super fair). It always made me look orange. MN has several options for me, which is nice. I was using the kind that can last all day, but it's too dry. Now I use the standard kind in the clear bottle (no idea what it's called) and I've been really happy with it so far.

I use Elizabeth Arden Flawless Finish Mousse Makeup. It comes in a little pressured can and you "pump" out what you need. It gives good coverage without being heavy or settling in creases.

I'm not a huge fan of foundation. I can never find one that doesn't make me look "made up" or "that I'm wearing it".

So I stick to tinted moisturizer. My favorite is the CG Smoothers Tinted Moisturizer (and I HATE most Cover Girl products - this is the only one I'll use) Usually about $6 or under at Target.

Bare Escentuals. Love it love it love it!!!!

Bare Escentuals - I will never go back to liquid again!!

I use Clinique's Almost Makeup and love it! I can't stand wearing foundation and being able to feel it on me. Yuck! I can't feel the Almost Makeup at all and it gives good coverage.

Gosh I probably sound so stupid for asking this but what is Bare Escentuals? Is it a powder? where do you buy it? Can you get it in places like Walmart or is it sold in Dept. Stores?

One more question: do you use both a liquid and a powder or just a powder
Thanks

Mineral foundations and eye shadow seem to be the latest thing, even though Bare Minerals/Bare Escetnuals has been around for years. I don't use that brand, but have seen it on TV infomercials, in its own store at the local mall and also on HSN or one of the other Shopping Channels.

Mineral foundation is a loose powder that is *pure* color, no fillers/additives. A little goes a long way and gives you a nice glow without that "I-am-being-imprisoned-by-an-immovable-mask" feeling.

Since I just started using my new stuff and have estermely dry skin, I make sure my face is *really* properly cleaned and moisturized before I apply the (powder/loose) mineral foundation - that seems to help it stay on. Others might have different hints...

I use only the liquid - again, I adore Revlon's Color Stay.... it's not oily looking - not matte looking.

I use Neutrogena Healthy Skin cream powder make up and this stuff called Bronzing Pots powder my mom brought back for me from a European cruise she went on. I don't usually use anything else cause my eyes are really sensitive.

Bare Escentuals. I haven't touched liquid or pressed powders in almost 2 years.

I was just going to post this the other day! ;) I ended up buying the tinted moisturizer listed above. It's okay, but not enough coverage for my fair skin during the dead of winter!

I need something for really really really dry skin. I am wondering if Bare essentials will really do the job for covering the uneven coloring and red spots? It would seem like it might dry my skin more since it's powder?

I used to use the CG Smoothers but I am in search of newer and better! :thumbsup2

I use Lancome's Adaptive and I love it. No mask feeling at all. I use a foundation brush instead of my finger to smooth it on then lightly use a loose powder.
