to the fitted t-shirt. Please say no so that designers will go back to making them as they were intended to be. Loose and casual. Instead they are now cotton body stockings. Now I know that right now I am carrying some extra weight but even when I was super skinny I hated these shirts. They show every lump and bump and are not attractive on most people. They are also made out of super thing material that you can see right through. I should not know how many moles you have on your back or if you have to shave your pits. Right now I am so not enjoying clothes shopping. I'd like to get some new t-shirts and I have yet to find any that aren't that darn fitted cut. It's like putting on a sausage skin. Blech!
So please join me in saying no to the fitted t-shirt!:flower3:

I say, "Wear it and share it proudly"...since we're in all in the same big boat. :lmao:

I have to disagree. I think loose t-shirts make people look bigger and fitted t's are more flattering.

After carefully considering my reply, I have decided to go with a simple, "no comment". :upsidedow

Well fitted is more flattering if you are in super shape. If not then you just look lumpy.;) When I say loose I mean in the appropriate size. I don't mean a ginormous shirt. I have nice t-shirt that are not fitted but are casual and flattering. When you have a thick waist the last thing you want to do is have things cling to it.

I like them loose too. I have some fitted t's that I like, but a lot of times the cut just doesn't fit. I have broad shoulders and I don't have tiny stick arms, so the fitted ones are really uncomfortable in the shoulder and upper arms a lot of the time. I wear my husband's t-shirts often. He gives me these stricken looks and says, "HEY! That came out off my shelf!" (I suppose he probably doesn't want them stretched out in front to accommodate things he doesn't have )

Also disagreeing. I look frumpy in a regular shirt... I buy them fitted and look just fine. The key is to buy the RIGHT SIZE fitted shirt. :thumbsup2

I find all the current clothes awful! 100% polyester T shirts at Nordstroms for $40.00...uh, if I want polyester I'll go to Walmart!

Well then I guess I am one of the few. I do not think these shirts look good on most people. I don't wear frumpy t-shirts. I wear v-neck shirts that hit at the hip bone. They are very neat looking and flattering to my shape. Of course I don't think tight and stretchy are an easy look to pull off. I guess if you have the confidence or the body for it then God bless. I just wish that there were more choices for those of us that don't like them. The choices seem to be teen clothing/fitted stretchy and "older" clothing. What about those of us in between? :confused3

I hate non fitted t-shirts! I'm wearing a fitted lands end t right now. reg ones make me look horrible.. I have *ahem* rather large "girls"and they just make me look fat... at least the fitted ones make me look like I only have big ****s...

:thumbsup2 You got it!! It's also a good idea to shop in the right department. Most women can not or should not probably shop in the Jrs. department, unless you are a stick. ;)

The problem is not fit v. loose. It's LENGTH. I HATE that t's are so short (ir I raise my arms, hellooooooooo belly!). I need t shirt that hits me at the hip bones AND is fitted. I wear Lg or XL and loose t's make me look frumpy.

Tissue weight shirts look good on no one though. The material should be sturdy or at least not see-through.

The Lands End shirt is almost certainly not the "tissue" fabric that I think the OP is talking about.

OP, I think you're actually supposed to layer those super-thin shirts. Not that I'm going to wear them, but I still think that the look is to wear another layer beneath it.

Kohl's (if you have one) has some great v-neck Ts that aren't square but also aren't clingy, I love them!

Yeah, with everyone else here, OP, those non-fitted t-shirts are NOT flattering, no matter what size you are. Sure, the tissue-thin, junior sized shirts that hug your body are made for junior-sized girls. But there are PLENTY of fitted Ts in misses sizes that are flattering. Lots of retailers out there selling them, I actually have a HARDER time finding a misses size that doesn't look like a rectangle. BOXY Ts are just AWFUL!

I'm with OP here. Lots of people THINK they should wear clothes tight, and/or share their teenage daughter's clothes. I prefer comfort over style. A pair of "mom jeans" and a t-shirt and/or sweatshirt is my best outfit! No tight shirts!!!
