Your computation looks almost exactly like mine, except my dates start on March 24 which is exactly when the discount chart goes higher than rack rate. So my total discount ends up being higher than rack rate. Oh, and yes Danny said his charts include taxes.

I don't think disney has ever raised rack rate like these charts indicate, especially so soon right after they just raised rack rates. I was pricing out BC CL and it jumps 160 per night over rack rate starting on March 24. Right now I have the AAA discount which looked dismal at the time, but now it's looking mighty fine!

And the same thing happens to me at POR. My dates March 21-23 are rack rate, no discount, and then on the 24th, the rates jump up to what a Royal Guest Room would cost, but that's listed as the standard view rate. I am just assuming I will not be receiving anymore of a discount than the $70.00 I saved with AAA. I will be VERY surprised if they raise rates like this.

I just ran six different room scenarios based on the chart and in every one, we would save 15-30% (depending on the resort). We are a family of 4 with 2 adults and 2 children under 10, staying April 20-26. With 5 day ticket discounts, this is what I came up with:

Pop Preferred Rack=993
Pop Preferred Discount per the Chart=864
Savings of 129 + 193 ticket discount for a total savings of $322 (30%)

CB Preferred Rack = 1465
CB Preferred Discount=1205
Savings of 260 + 193 ticket discount for a total savings of $453 (30%)

WL Standard Rack = 2368
WL Standard Discount = 2212
Savings of 156 + 193 ticket discount for a total savings of $349 (15%)

POR-Royal Guest Room Rack=1297
POR-Royal Guest Room Discount=1235
Savings of 62 + 193 ticket discount for a total savings of $255 (20%)

BC/YC Standard Rack = 2773
BC/YC Discount = 2278
Savings of 495 + 193 ticket discount for a total savings of $688 (25%)

Poly Standard Rack = 3324
Poly Standard Discount = 3044
Savings of 280 + 193 ticket discount for a total savings of $473 (15%)

Maybe my math is faulty and I understand that all of this information changes depending on the dates you are staying and the number of adults in the room, but I always understood that the percentage of the discount depended on the availability at any given resort at the time of the promotion. While it's maybe unusual that the Poly discount is 15% and the Pop is 30%, it would make since if the Poly is booked. None of these percentages fall outside the standard percentage of discounts normally offered. Just some thoughts. I may be way off base.

don't the beach club rates look very low on the spreadsheet (regular rooms starting at $341 and a villa studio at $349 and 1BR at $491)? I hope I'm reading it right - we have 2 kids, 2 adults end of March.

I think you might be looking at the wrong dates. I'm also going at the end of March and my BC rates on the spreadsheet show 875 per night in a club level room. That is 160 higher than the current rack rate. I think a regular standard room is over 650 a night on the chart.

I really wish you were looking at end of march numbers but from memory I think you are looking at may or June dates. You need to scroll way down to almost the end to get the heading for end of march.

I contacted Disney today regarding a question I had about a post card my mother received via snail mail. It was strictly for room only and did not work for our dates. The castmember told me not to give up that there would be a special offer coming the first week of January. She said that I would be able to apply it to our package and that, since we are booked at the CBR, our percentage off would "probably" be 20 or 25 percent. She also mentioned that there would be "other great things" like ticket and dining plan offers. We all know that we are to take what the castmembers say with a grain of salt but, with the exception of the "dining plan options", this lines up with what Danny25 posted.

Thank you!! So glad you told me. What do the dates mean actually - meaning they don't list every day in a month for example. So if I'm looking around the March 18-25 timeframe, give or take, all my dates are not specifically listed. Help.

The dates will be for 2/15-3/23 and 4/2-6/14. She said she didnt know the actual discount but will be "re-quoting" my price once it comes out!

The dates will be for 2/15-3/23 and 4/2-6/14. She said she didnt know the actual discount but will be "re-quoting" my price once it comes out!

I haven't read through all the posts, but to me this does not look anywhere near the savings we got from free dining. We saved well over $1000 in a moderate resort. Maybe I am missing something, but hey any deal is better than no deal. LOL Still have months to wait for the November deal to come out anyway. Waiting patiently.

Free dining would save us $1,600. I guess that I'm missing something as well.

Oh boy now I am getting even more excited. My dates are for May 23-27 at CBR. Discounts will be great and a dining offer would just be icing on the cake. Thanks Danny25. This helps keep my mind off the fact that we had to change are dates. We would have been checking in tomorrow for a 10 day stay.
